Chapter 17 - The one I loved

Night had fallen over the Academy, casting long shadows across the grand halls. Lanterns flickered as students made their way to their dorms, some laughing, others still whispering about what had happened in the canteen. Aiden walked alone, silent as always, moving through the dimly lit corridors with the same calm presence that drew attention without effort.

His dorm room was quiet, the soft rustle of his cloak as he entered the room the only sound. He set his belongings down and sat on the edge of his bed, staring at nothing. The events of the day—the humiliation of Kael, the subtle stirrings of the Primordial inside him, the watchful eyes of the silver-haired teacher, and the princess observing him from afar—swirled in his mind, but Aiden's calm exterior remained intact.

As he laid down to sleep, the darkness of night became more than a physical veil—it became a gateway.

The moment his eyes closed, the world shifted. He was no longer in the Academy dorms.

He stood in a vast, twilight battlefield that stretched into infinity. The sky burned with unnatural colors—purple, crimson, and gold streaked across clouds that seemed alive. Mountains had collapsed into jagged shards, rivers of molten energy flowed like veins, and the air thrummed with immense, raw power.

All around him, beings of unimaginable form moved—gods, demons, and entities that defied description. They were massive, terrifying, pulsing with power that dwarfed even the strongest mortals. Yet even as they fought, they all seemed to pause when a figure moved across the field—him.

The Primordial consciousness inside him shifted in excitement. Do you see? it whispered. This is what they feared. This is the scale of what you are.

Aiden's vision shifted, showing glimpses of the past—the true memories of the being slumbering within him. Cities burned before his footsteps. Entire armies fell with a glance. Even gods faltered in fear, trembling as they recognized the magnitude of this force.

And then… he saw her.

She was unlike anyone he had ever seen in this form. Not the silver-haired, violet-eyed princess he had observed at the Academy. No, this form was older, ethereal—hair like molten gold, eyes like liquid starlight, and wings that spread wide, shimmering with a power that rivaled the universe itself. She moved with him across the battlefield, side by side, as if they were equals—partners, lovers, rulers of a chaos that even gods feared.

The Primordial whispered, almost reverently: This is the one you loved, long before this world even existed. The one you gave your heart to in a time that mortals cannot understand. Even now, she is… bound to you. Waiting… watching… in another form.

Aiden felt a flicker of recognition, deep in the core of his consciousness. The student council president… she's…

The vision shifted again, showing her in her current form—the beautiful, regal princess, seated above the Academy in her student council box, her eyes already filled with desire and recognition for him. He realized then that she was the same being from his ancient past—the one he had truly loved. Time, form, and dimension had changed her, but the essence, the bond, the love… it remained.

A wave of emotion stirred in him, deeper than he had allowed himself to feel in centuries. Calm, collected Aiden felt something unfamiliar—a pull, a longing, a recognition that this world had placed them together once again.

She waits… the Primordial whispered, the voice now tinged with amusement. And she knows you, even in this form. Your power, your presence… she senses it. She desires it. And she desires you.

Aiden's eyes glimmered in the darkness of the vision. Then I will find her. And when I do…

The battlefield around him shifted, flickering like a memory, showing the destruction he had wrought as the first being. Gods fell, demons cowered, mortals fled—but beside him, she remained. Always beside him.

And then, the vision ended abruptly. Aiden's eyes shot open in his dorm room. Moonlight filtered through the window, casting silver shadows across his room. His heart, normally calm and unshakable, beat slightly faster.

The memory, the vision, the truth of the Primordial's past—the one who had loved him and who awaited him even now—settled deep in his mind.

He knew, with absolute certainty, that the student council president was no ordinary girl. She was the reincarnation—or continuation—of the one he had loved in a time before time, the one who had walked beside him when gods and demons alike had trembled.

And slowly, a faint smirk curved his lips.

Then the game truly begins.

The Primordial inside him purred softly, almost in approval. Yes… it begins. And this time, nothing will hold us back.

Outside, the Academy lay quiet under the night sky. But inside Aiden's dorm, a force long feared by gods stirred fully awake.

Night deepened over the Academy, silence settling over the halls. The princess, student council president, sat alone in her private chamber, moonlight spilling across her delicate features. Her breathing was slow, measured—but her mind was restless. Something tugged at her consciousness, insistent, undeniable.

She closed her eyes.

The vision came instantly, sweeping her away from the quiet chamber. The world shifted to the battlefield of twilight she had glimpsed before—a vast, shattered expanse where the sky bled colors unnatural to the mortal eye, and the air itself vibrated with raw, almost unbearable power. Mountains jutted jaggedly into the sky, rivers of molten energy wound like veins across the land, and in the center of it all… he stood.

Aiden.

Not the calm boy at the Academy, not the "pretty, weak student" that everyone whispered about—but the being he truly was: the first being, the predator, the Primordial force that even gods and demons had feared. His presence radiated authority, danger, and incomprehensible power. Even from a distance, she could feel the weight of him pressing against her senses, and her heart, for the first time in decades, raced in a way no mortal excitement could explain.

Her violet eyes widened, not in fear, but in recognition.

It's him… she breathed, almost unthinkingly. Aiden…

The battlefield shimmered, and suddenly she saw the memories—the visions of the past. Entire armies crushed beneath a thought, gods trembling, demons fleeing, civilizations burning, all under his calm, unflinching gaze. And beside him, always beside him, she saw herself in her ancient form: molten-gold hair, starlight eyes, wings that shimmered with divine energy.

Her heart leapt. She remembered. Every battle, every touch, every moment of love shared in a time before time. I know him… I've always known him.

Her mind raced, piecing together the connection between the boy at the Academy and the being in her vision. He… he is the one. The one everyone fears. The one even gods tremble before. And he… he is here. Alive. In this world. As a boy…

The realization hit her like a physical blow: the quiet, seemingly "weak" student she had observed, the one who had drawn her attention for reasons she barely understood, was him. The first being, the predator, the Primordial power that could unmake the world if he chose.

Her violet eyes glimmered with awe, desire, and certainty all at once. He is Aiden… the one I have always loved. The one I have waited for.

The Primordial consciousness within him stirred as if it sensed her recognition. Ah… she knows. She remembers. She desires me… as she always did.

The vision intensified. She could feel the pull of his power, the ancient, living aura that surrounded him even now. She could feel the bond stretching across the void of time, unbroken.

Her lips moved in a whisper, though no sound escaped the vision: "Aiden… I remember… I know you… and I… want you."

Aiden, in his dorm room, shifted slightly in his sleep. The Primordial stirred fully now, coiling like a storm beneath his calm exterior. She knows you. She remembers you. She recognizes the predator you truly are.

The princess's heartbeat quickened, a deep thrill that went beyond mortal desire. Her mind knew something undeniable: this boy, this being, was hers. Across time, across worlds, across forms, the bond had endured.

When the vision finally faded, she opened her eyes, trembling slightly, violet orbs still glowing in the moonlight. She leaned back, a faint, knowing smile curling her lips.

He is Aiden. He is the first being. He is mine. And he will know it too.

Somewhere in the Academy, the boy himself slept, the Primordial power inside him fully awake, sensing her recognition, and already anticipating their meeting.

The threads of fate, ancient as the world itself, had tightened. And the game between predator and his destined equal had begun.
