Riley's POV
After spending the most perfect afternoon wrapped in Caleb's arms, we finally make our way downstairs to face our friends. The full moon rises tonight, and time is slipping through our fingers like sand.
Part of me wants to feel mortified about what everyone witnessed earlier, but Caleb whispers against my ear that he only kissed me until they cleared out. Honestly, I can barely bring myself to care. Every fiber of my being was consumed by one singular focus - my mate.
God, that word still sends shivers down my spine.
'Maybe it feels strange to you, but I've been dreaming of this moment for years,' Caleb's voice echoes in my mind, making me jump slightly.
'Are you going to be eavesdropping on my thoughts constantly?' I ask him through our new connection, and his rich chuckle vibrates through my skull.
'Only as long as you allow it.'
