Chapter 2 - The Trial of Awakening.

The air shimmered, heavy with expectation.

Lui Quiboloy stood on the plateau, his gaze fixed on Arthur Alpha, who walked toward him with measured steps. The golden light surrounding Arthur intensified, bending around them like molten glass, a presence both comforting and overwhelming.

"Your journey begins now," Arthur said, his voice calm yet carrying an authority that seemed to pierce through space itself. "If you are to survive here, you must first awaken to the truth of your own strength."

Lui Quiboloy swallowed. His hands clenched instinctively, though he had no weapon, no armor, no power to speak of. He was a mortal boy flung into a world beyond comprehension.

Arthur raised a hand. The plateau trembled. A sphere of light emerged from the ground, spinning slowly, suspended midair. Within it, shadows moved, twisting and writhing, forming shapes both humanoid and monstrous. They whispered without words, voices that sounded like the echoes of lost worlds.

"This is your first trial," Arthur said. "Face what emerges. Survive it. In doing so, you will awaken the power you carry within. Only then can you stand among those who are chosen."

Lui Quiboloy's heart hammered. Fear rose like a tide, but beneath it, a spark stirred. He thought of Earth, of everything familiar, and realized he no longer belonged there. This world demanded courage, demanded action. He inhaled deeply, and for the first time, his legs did not tremble.

The shadows shifted suddenly, forming a towering figure, more than a man, more than a beast. Its eyes glowed with cold intent. It moved, and the ground beneath it cracked as if reality itself recoiled.

Lui Quiboloy stepped back. Instinct screamed at him to flee, but he could not. He had no choice but to confront this trial.

Arthur watched silently. "Remember, strength comes not only from power, but from will. From conviction. From the courage to stand when all odds are impossible."

The shadow lunged. Time seemed to slow. Lui's body reacted instinctively, faster than his mind could comprehend. He ducked, rolled, and stumbled to his feet, heart pounding. But he felt it, something deep in his chest. A warmth. A surge. A pulse. His hands tingled, and a faint light flared around his body.

The shadow froze mid-motion, almost as if it sensed the awakening within him.

Lui Quiboloy's eyes blazed. He did not know how, he did not know why, but he could feel the world responding to him. Every step he took, every heartbeat, every breath connected him to this realm. He was alive, truly alive, in a way that transcended his mortal existence.

The shadow attacked again. Lui moved faster this time, not with skill, not with technique, but with instinct, instinct sharpened by something ancient, something awakening within him. A swing of his fist, a pulse of energy he had not consciously produced, and the shadow shattered into motes of dark light, dissipating into the wind.

Arthur's eyes glimmered with approval. "Good. You have felt it. The spark within. That is only the beginning, Lui Quiboloy. Your power is not yet yours to command, but it exists. You must nurture it, strengthen it, and understand it. Only then can you hope to face what comes next."

Lui Quiboloy fell to his knees, exhausted but exhilarated. His chest burned, his muscles ached, yet he felt more alive than ever. The world around him was still incomprehensible, overwhelming, and terrifying, but now it was his world too.

Arthur stepped beside him. "Rise, Hero of Beginning. Your trial has only begun, but today, you have taken the first step toward awakening."

As Lui Quiboloy looked up at the impossibly vast horizon, at skies that had no end and a world that bent the rules of reality, he understood one truth. He was no longer a mortal boy. He had crossed into something greater, something eternal. He had begun his journey. Nothing, not gods, not monsters, not the endless void itself, would stop him.
