Chapter 1 - Chapter 01: The Marriage with Hidden Knives(1)

Interieore, 6 continents, 22 archipelagoes, countless islands.

All controlled by one empire, the Bethasdore Empire, home to countless races and noble houses. The past Emperor, Emperor Kalid the Receiver died in his deathbed at the ripe age of 134, the one to inherit the throne was his only son out of 6 wives, Malik.

Most of his vassals had advised him not to choose Malik as the inheritor of the throne, that even his eldest daughter, High Princess Jaina was more fitting to the role than the lone son, Malik, who frolics around the entire empire like a moth to the flame.

But the former emperor didn't change his decision which ultimately made Malik, the only son, to rise to the throne, becoming emperor. Kalid the Receiver died, as well as his wives who followed their husband in death as they did in life, leaving Malik and his siblings, his 7 sisters to rule over the kingdom.

But just 5 years of becoming the Emperor, the entire empire was at the brink of shattering, civil wars, countless assassination attempts to noble houses, rebellions and such, all happening at Malik the Tyrant's rule.

The vassals begged for the eldest princess to help Malik but she ignored them and established a kingdom for dragons in the far east alongside her newfound husband, the Dragon King.

So they turned to the next competent royal family member, who kicked them all out from her lab. Not wanting to catch any sort of illness or disease that came from the lab, they went to the 3rd sister.

The 3rd sister refused their offer, saying that Malik can handle everything himself if he so wishes, just make him want to do what they want him to do. Confused, the vassals left.

Finding that their words didn't work, they went to the 4th who was nowhere to be found, even when they scoured the entire Interieore, they could only give up and go to the younger 5th princess.

The 5th princess was having a tea party will all the young princesses of all races, feeling displeased that the vassals dared to interrupt her tea time, she ordered for them to be executed but before they could, she heard what they have to say and only shook her head.

"Older Brother Malik is a far more better ruler than me, he might even be a better emperor than Royal Father himself."

The vassals doubted that and concluded that the 5th princess was a brocon and they left for the sixth.

The sixth was by Emperor Malik's side, holding a telescope in her arms, upon finding her in the imperial palace's halls, they begged the princess to stop the current emperor's plans, only to be refused by her.

She didn't even let a sound out of her mouth and just shook her head, she then shooed them away and went to her room.

The 7th and final member was of the Oni tribe, the youngest and also the most troublemaking one out of the eight, the vassals could only pray to the Goddess Mistress of Chaos that their entire empire would not crumble.

All the vassals went to the throne room once more and knelt down to their emperor.

Sitting in the Golden Throne, a man of muscular body sat lazily, his head leaning on his hand as he watched them with his red eyes. His golden hair fluttered in the wind.

"What is it, this time?"

From outside perspective, the Emperor looked like what an emperor should be, regal full of grace.

But the vassals knew what kind of demon the man was.

"Oh, Emperor, we plead to you. The western territiories are rebelling, countless civil wars are being fought as we speak, we plead you to send an army to aid them..."

"Oh, mighty Emperor, we plead to you...."

Malik stared at his vassals, and internally clicked his tongue. Rolling his red eyes, he looked up and saw the stars. His eyes started shining.

'How beautiful...'

He thought to himself as he watched the skies. He didn't bother listening to what the vassals were saying, he couldn't care less. Wars, conflict, was bound to happen, such was the nature of all sentient beings.

Looking back down to his vassals who didn't stop pleading him, he looked to the right to the window. The wars in the west were for sure because of insane taxes they gave to their citizens, sending an army to stop an angry mob will for sure result in his reputation drowning even more in filth.

Well more filthy it could drown because his reputation nowadays were quite harsh, perhaps the most harshest of all the Emperors.

He was called Malik the Tyrant, when his father was Kalid the Receiver for his deeds in war and all the scars he gotten from that wars, his grandfather before him being called the Destined because he grew the entire empire into what it was today.

Being called Malik the Tyrant made him a little annoyed but he let it go. He had done all he could for this empire, all to make sure it could move independently without depending on him, the Emperor on constantly making worthless decisions.

He did all that so that he could focus on his research.

"The final report, Dear Emperor...."

Ugh, do it already and leave. Does fate really want me to be stuck in here forev....?

Just before the vassals would drop a bomb on him, he managed to look up and saw an alignment in the stars.

"...Unfortune-Fortunate Blessing?" Looking at the stars, he stared at it confused.

What does that-

"The Duchess of Falkncast has used the Royal Edict Tablet. In exchange for the glory her family had done in the past for the empire, she requests that their reward will be for the current Duchess of Falkncast, Lady Aijira Falkncast to be married to you, Emperor Malik Bethasdore of the Bethasdore Empire."
