Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO

PRIVILEGE OF BEING A GODDESS'S CHILD: I WANT A HAREM OF GODS

Chapter Two: ARTERIA

It had been a day since Keala landed in this unfamiliar land, a full day of wandering around with no where to go.

She sat on the edge of a broken stone fountain, her fingers lazily tracing the cracks along its surface as her eyes moved slowly across the unfamiliar city before her.

Arteria.

That was the name she had heard someone mention earlier.

A strange name… but then again, everything here was strange.

People walked past her like it was the most normal thing in the world, yet to Keala, this was far from normal.

A man with two curved horns argued loudly with a merchant whose skin had a faint blue tint. A child ran past her, laughing, his eyes glowing faintly gold. And just across the street, a woman with pointed ears, an elf, that Keala was sure of, was bargaining over what looked like a beast's claw.

Keala rested her chin on her palm.

"…Yeah," she muttered under her breath. "I'm definitely not on Earth anymore."

There was no panic on her face, No fear., Just… acceptance. And Maybe a little curiosity.

Okay. . .maybe a lot.

Because if there was one thing Keala had learned from all those late nights watching anime and playing games with her so-called "bad company," it was this:

When you wake up in a strange world filled with weird creatures…

You don't question it too much.

You adapt. Fast. Don't let them know you're not one of them

Still… Her brows furrowed slightly.

Because even if she could accept this, She couldn't ignore what happened before this.

Her grip on the stone tightened unconsciously.

That moment.

The voice from the void, that sounded neither male or female

That strange place.

She remembered opening her eyes.

Not here.

But somewhere else.

A place that didn't feel real. Thinking she somehow made it to heaven a d not hell like everyone said for sure she was going to rot in, she wanted to shove it on those people's face that jokes on them, she made it to heaven.

She looked around her, everything around her had been… white.

No. Not white. It was something brighter. Endless brightness

Like she was floating in the middle of a sky made of light.

There was nothing below, nor anything above.

And then— that voice.

"Child."

Keala had frowned at the time, her eyes scanning the empty space around her.

"Okay… creepy," she had said, her tone more annoyed than scared. "If you're gonna kidnap me, at least show your face."

There had been a pause.

Then a soft sound.

Almost like a laugh.

But not quite.

"I have no form that your current perception can comprehend."

"Wow," Keala had muttered. "That sounds like a 'you problem.'"

Another pause. Keala could swear she heard teeths grinding.

Then.

"You have been chosen."

Keala had rolled her eyes.

"Of course I have. Is this the part where you tell me I'm special and I have to save a kingdom or something?"

"No."

That made her blink.

"No?" she repeated.

"No."

A brief silence followed before the voice continued.

"You are not here to save anyone."

Keala had tilted her head slightly.

"…Good. Because I wasn't planning to."

Something flickered in the air before her.

And then

A small object appeared. Floating above her

A golden pill.

It glowed faintly, like it was made of condensed light.

Keala stared at it. "…You want me to take drugs from a mysterious voice in a void?" she asked flatly.

"It will restore and elevate your vessel."

"Say that again, but in a less suspicious way."

"It will make you constitution… better."

Keala hummed softly. "…Better how?"

"You will see."

She stared at it for a few seconds longer.

Then shrugged.

"Well… not like I've got anything better to do."

And just like that, she raised her hands and grabbed the pill. It felt hot on her palm.

Keala blinked, her gaze snapping back to the present.

Her hand slowly moved up to her hair.

She grabbed a strand, bringing it into view.

It wasn't the same. She used to have a full black hair

Now? She was a blondie.

She felt the soft texture of her hair, Wavy in a way it had never been before.

And her skin, as white as a peeled egg, with no single blemishes.

Even after everything she had been through in the past day.

"…Yeah," she murmured. "Definitely not normal."

Her stomach growled loudly. She froze. Then sighed.

"Okay… priorities first."

Food. Money. Information.

In that order.

Her eyes scanned the street again, sharper this time.

Observing. Just like in a game.

If this world worked anything like the ones she knew, then there had to be a system.

Not necessarily a literal one.

But a structure.

A way people survived. A way people grew stronger.

And it didn't take long for her to notice the pattern.

Weapons. Armour. People carrying themselves like fighters.

And then, Her eyes landed on it.

A large building not too far from where she sat.

The sign hanging above its entrance was rough, but clear enough.

A sword. Crossed with another.

Classic. Keala smirked slightly.

"…Mercenary guild, huh?"

Of course. Of course it would be something like that. Her kind of place.

She pushed herself up from the fountain, stretching slightly as her body adjusted.

There was still a faint soreness in her muscles, but nothing serious.

If anything… She felt lighter. Stronger.

Like her body wasn't holding her back anymore.

Weird. But she wasn't complaining.it wasn't as if this was the first weird thing happening to her.

As she began walking toward the building, she noticed the looks.

People were staring. Not everyone. But it was enough.

Some of the looks were of curiousity. Some people looked amused. Some… calculating.

But, Keala ignored them. She had dealt with worse back home.

Way worse.

"Focus," she muttered to herself.

Money first. Then everything else can come later.

She was hit by the noise and the stench of sweat the moment she stepped inside The Guild.

Voices and Laughter rang out from every corner.

People arguing at the front of where Keala believes is the registration table. The young female receptionist watching the farce as if it was the most normal thing to see.

The clinking of metal. It was chaotic. Alive.

Exactly what she expected.

Her eyes moved quickly, taking everything in.

Tables filled with rough-looking individuals.

Weapons laid casually against walls.

A large board at the far end of the room, covered in papers. Requests. Jobs. Bounties.

Yeah. Definitely a guild.

Keala exhaled slowly.

"…Alright," she whispered.

Game on.

She took a step forward, And then—

"Hey."

Her movement stopped. She turned her head slightly.

A large man stood a few steps away from her, his arms crossed as he looked her up and down.

His gaze wasn't friendly.

"…You lost, little girl?"

Keala blinked once.

Then tilted her head slightly.

A slow smile spread across her lips.

"…No," she said calmly, her eyes flickering with mischief "I think I just found exactly what I was looking for."
