Chapter 4 -  Chapter 4 – Yay!

That night, after making all his preparations, Ji Ran lay on his bed—

only to realize that despite being exhausted, he couldn't fall asleep at all.

He thought he'd be calmer…

But with only three minutes left until 23:59, he finally realized:

He was panicking like crazy.

Who knows what kind of dungeon he'll be sent into?

How dangerous it will be?

And his teammate—sure, she's strong compared to normal people—

…but what if the system goes insane and throws him into some absurd world, gives him trash-tier buffs…

Wouldn't he just end up singing "RIP" on the spot?

Praying now is useless.

He doesn't even know where he'll be sent—so he can't prepare properly either.

"…Forget it."

"Let's just go with the flow. One second of life is one second earned."

Though right now… he didn't feel happy at all.

[Ding! The time has come! Initiating transfer.]

As the system's voice echoed in his mind, the space around Ji Ran began to distort.

In the next instant—

his surroundings completely changed.

"…Okay."

"This is clearly a hotel room… but the style isn't very modern."

[Dungeon selected: Akame ga Kill!]

[Generating mission… please wait.]

"Y-you you you—who are you?!"

Just as Ji Ran was about to check the mission panel, a panicked voice rang out.

On the other bed—

Kiana Kaslana stared at the changed surroundings, then glared at Ji Ran.

"Kidnapping me?! You've got some nerve!"

"…Sigh. I knew this would happen."

With lifeless eyes, Ji Ran slowly turned his head toward her.

"Miss Kaslana… did you hear the system's voice today?"

"The system's… voice? I did hear something, but what is a system—wait! That's not the point!"

At that moment, Kiana realized—

she was still wearing pajamas.

Her face flushed slightly as she quickly grabbed the blanket to cover herself.

"Pervert! Creep! Shameless! Kidnapping an innocent girl?!"

"…Great."

"So she really didn't listen at all."

Ji Ran felt a headache coming on.

Not only was explaining everything troublesome—

but in her current state, Kiana clearly wouldn't believe a stranger.

Meanwhile, seeing Ji Ran suddenly facepalm and sigh—

Kiana became even more annoyed.

She was a confident girl and knew she was definitely a beauty.

At first, she thought he was some kind of pervert—

But now…

No pervert would look at her with that much annoyance.

"…This is ridiculous."

"System, can you explain the rules to her again?"

[Understood.]

Now this—this is what a good teammate looks like.

At Ji Ran's request, the system replayed all the previous explanations inside Kiana's mind.

Her expression gradually shifted:

Shock → disbelief → …something strange.

"So… I can treat this as another world, right?"

"Correct."

"There are things like swords and magic, like in light novels from the Far East?"

"…Close enough. Let's go with that."

"Yay! That's amazing!"

Kiana instantly got excited.

"As expected, I'm the chosen one! I actually get to travel to another world!"

"Hehe~ this is way more fun than an amusement park—wait!"

"I promised Mei we'd go out tomorrow!"

Suddenly, panic appeared on her face.

"Uh… what was it called… system! Can you pause this? Send me back first! I'll come back after tomorrow—"

[Apologies. During a dungeon, leaving is not permitted.]

[You must complete at least one phase of the mission. Only when both testers agree to exit can you leave.]

[However, do not worry about breaking your promise. No matter how long you stay here, only 0.1 seconds pass in reality.]

[As long as you leave alive, you won't miss your appointment.]

"Oh! Then that's fine."

Kiana patted her chest in relief.

But Ji Ran…

felt something was very wrong.

System—

You just calmed her down…

…but you also made me more nervous.

"What do you mean 'as long as you leave alive'?"

"That sounds terrifying, you know?!"

"…Sigh."

For some reason, Ji Ran suddenly felt a bit regretful.

He glanced sideways at the overly excited Kiana and thought:

"I'm not going to get dragged down by her recklessness… right?"
