1. Spirit Hunters:
Spirit Hunters are not mere exorcists but the last line between reality and collapse.
They exist to guard the Veil, the invisible boundary separating the human world from corruption born of fallen divinity. Where this boundary weakens, madness seeps in, and reality itself begins to fracture.
Their duties are threefold:
Preserve Sanity - suppressing entities and phenomena that distort the human mind
Stabilize Reality - sealing breaches where the laws of the world begin to fail
Erase Divinity's Echo - hunting down remnants, artifacts, and traces left behind by fallen deities.
To the public, they are myths. To the initiated, they are feared almost as much as the things they hunt.
Because every Spirit Hunter carries a truth:
To fight corruption long enough is to become something close to it.
2. Spirit Energy: Spirit Energy is the unseen force that flows through all living humans. It is a remnant of an ancient connection between humanity and higher existence.
Most people live and die without ever sensing it. But for the rare few it becomes power.
3. Awakened Humans: Those who can perceive and manipulate Spirit Energy are known as Awakened.
They can:
Strengthen their bodies beyond human limits.
Perceive hidden entities and distortions.
Interact with the Veil itself.
Spirit Hunters are the most disciplined of the Awakened but not the only ones. There are those who reject restraint. By forming pacts with fallen deities, they gain access to forbidden expressions of Spirit Energy which is twisted, volatile, and far more powerful.
Their abilities often include:
Ritual-based magic. Summoning or channeling dark entities
Warping probability, flesh, or perception
But this power comes at a cost.
