Chapter 10 - C10: First Mission... Is A Trap?!

When Kaito returned to the sprawling Senju Compound, Tsunade was already waiting for him in the courtyard.

"Ugh! It's that cunning old woman again!" Mirei immediately complained.

Tsunade crossed her arms and glared at the young Uchiha.

"I don't have time to debate with you, flat lady. Kaito, I need your help in mastering my Wood Jutsu."

Mirei's face turned completely red from the insult.

"Y-You! Shameless!"

Kaito quickly grabbed Mirei by the waist to calm her down, before looking at Tsunade.

He asked, "What do you need me for?"

"You know... Umm..." Tsunade suddenly looked away, blushing randomly.

She then simply grabbed Kaito by the wrist and pulled him along.

She said, "Just come with me!"

As they went out to the private training ground, Tsunade immediately sat down on the grass.

"My Chakra flow got messed up again during practice. I need your help to better circulate it," Tsunade said in a serious tone.

Kaito nodded as he walked closer to her.

"Wait! Kaito! What does she mean by 'again'? Have you done this without me knowing it before?" Mirei protested loudly, her jealousy flaring up.

"I will tell you later, Mirei. Let me do this first, okay?" Kaito softly comforted her.

Looking at Kaito's gentle and soft gaze, Mirei folded immediately and pouted in the corner.

"Get ready, Tsunade."

"You aren't calling me Lady Tsunade again, I see?"

"Just focus first!" Kaito commanded.

Tsunade sneered at Kaito but closed her eyes and concentrated.

Using his Six Eyes innate ability once again, Kaito perfectly controlled both his and Tsunade's Chakra.

He guided the conflicting Earth and Water natures, molding and circulating them perfectly through her pathways.

When they finally finished the grueling process, Tsunade was breathing heavily, covered in sweat.

"You need to learn Senjutsu immediately, Tsunade," Kaito advised.

"I know. I'm in between my training sessions right now."

"Then, I'll be leaving. Come, Mirei."

However, just as Kaito was about to turn around and leave, he remembered something.

"Right, Tsunade. Do you happen to know someone named Dan Katō?"

Tsunade looked up, meeting Kaito's curious face.

"Of course. He is a prominent medical ninja like me. What's up with him?"

Kaito shook his head. "No... Nothing."

'She doesn't seem to be really close with him yet,' Kaito thought.

'They must have begun dating right when the Second Great Ninja War started.'

After saying his goodbyes, Kaito left the training grounds.

Now that he had the system reward of '100% Guaranteed Hit Black Flash', he desperately needed to practice.

However, he didn't actually know how!

He knew how Black Flash worked in the anime.

It required infusing Cursed Energy—which was now Chakra—exactly 0.000001 seconds upon physical impact.

But if he tried to consciously infuse it himself, wouldn't his human reaction time just ruin the perfect timing?

'I sure hope it automatically activates with my Six Eyes and Taijutsu Mastery.'

Hokage Office, Konoha

The following day, Kaito, Mirei, and Hiashi had already gathered and were waiting for Dan Katō.

They were incredibly excited to finally go on a mission as official Genin.

"Hello! Sorry if it took too long. Here is our very first mission for the day," Dan Katō announced as he walked in.

He revealed a neatly tied mission scroll.

"Escorting a merchant?" Mirei repeated, looking slightly disappointed.

"Yes! Specifically Mr. Takamura, a wealthy merchant from Amegakure."

"How long do you think it would take to travel there, Hiashi?" Kaito asked.

Hiashi crossed his arms. "It's Hyuga... And I'm not entirely sure. I think around two days?"

"Three!" Dan Katō corrected with a smile.

"We will be leaving Konoha for three days. Make sure you guys are already prepared with supplies, got it?"

"Yes, Dan Teacher!" they replied in unison.

After quickly packing up their ninja tools and rations, Team 6 moved toward Konoha's West Gate.

"This is taking way too long! We have been waiting here for two hours!" Mirei complained, kicking a small rock.

"Where is this client of ours?!"

"He must have gotten lost or something," Kaito added, leaning against the massive wooden gate.

Eventually, after a long while, a person finally came jogging toward them.

He was a visibly fat man wearing expensive clothes, with barely any eyebrows left on his sweaty face.

"Sorry! Sorry! I never expected the trade negotiations would take way longer than I planned."

"You guys are the shinobi squad that I hired, correct?" he added.

Dan Katō stepped forward. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Takamura. We are Team 6 of Konoha. We will be your escort."

"Okay... Then I'll be in your care."

Takamura briefly stared at Kaito's striking white hair and glowing blue eyes, a strange glint passing through his gaze.

Then, after everything was finally settled, the group began to move out of the village.

The first two days and nights went smoothly without any major incidents.

However, on day three, when they slowly approached the rainy borders of Amegakure, Kaito could feel the air grow incredibly tense.

Through his Six Eyes, he noticed unnatural chakra signatures hiding perfectly in the dense forest canopy.

As if confirming Kaito's suspicion, three black-hooded figures suddenly dropped down from the trees, blocking their path.

"Who's there?!" Dan Katō shouted, immediately drawing a kunai.

The leader of the hooded ninjas let out a sinister laugh.

"Fufufu... You did a very good job, Takamura."

The fat merchant stepped back, moving safely behind the enemy ninjas.

"Hehehe... They were completely clueless. Konoha shinobi are so easy to fool."

Dan Katō's eyes widened in realization. It was a trap!

Suddenly, one of the hooded ninjas rapidly wove hand seals.

"Water Release: Water Prison Jutsu!"

"Kaito—!!" Mirei shouted in panic.

But before she could even draw her weapon, a massive, thick ball of dense water erupted from the puddles beneath their feet.

It instantly covered the four of them, trapping them inside a suffocating sphere.

"Damn it, we are trapped!" Dan Katō panicked, struggling against the heavy water pressure.

The fat guy, Takamura, walked closer to the water prison, grinning devilishly at the drowning Genin.
