Three years fly fast especially when you are in the Frontlines always trying to keep alert or trying to survive, I have been here in base working as cleaner for the group or someone making the meals and for a bit I felt seen, needed and accepted but something changed a few months back when they supposedly started ignoring me, giving me the cold shoulder.
Thinking it was in my head a mission comes up and it requires my help since illusions were detected in the area.
Deport area(briefing)...
"Alright everyone this mission target is suppected between hell molars, abyss Walker or chimera ant!" Hearing the team leader mention the target suppected I couldn't help but raise a hand
"Isn't this a bit too much, I understand hell molars or abyss Walker but chimera ant is purple threat alert above our team!" Voicing my concerns.
Hell molars are big the size of a normal gorilla powerful claws and sensitive nose for picking up scents in the air, abyss walkers are nightmares given life. Though the reason they aren't a threat is that one out here is usually weak and move alone.
But chimera ant is a monster that move in groups and eat anything in their path, hard exoskeleton sharp teeth and hive mind controlled by the queen!
Mai looks over answering my concerns with a sharp gaze "you're concern is useless because those ants as powerful as they are aren't that smart to just hide without major movement so that's not possible and it is a suppect not a fact. No shut up and don't interrupt again!" She snorts after her firm evaluation of the situation
But they forgot something about the ants which I was planning to add but all of them stared at me as if daring me to speak again.
I stay quiet swallowing back my words then we started the mission searching high and low along the uneven terrain of the vast hills and valley at the furthest side from the death valley but towards the bad side!
Evening approaches when my fears are confirmed as dozens of ants surrounded us. We fought and cut down many though they continued driving us to the edge of the cliff when Tom slipped almost falling I quickly grab his arm as I lay on the ground pulling him but the ants were wearing us down when the others attach ropes to our waists forcing us to climb down but noticed the ants didn't follow us.
"Why did they stop!" Asked Jake "I don't know but I have a bad feeling!" Boom an explosion shocked the side of the cliff before a terrifying shriek echoes within the valley and below is a beast I never expected to run into "abyssal chimera queen!"
Looking at the abyssal create, we may call them ants but that is the start of their evolution. Chimera ants evolve though eating and once their queen evolved enough she reaches abyssal chimera queen a huge dark purple create resembling a Drake dragon.
"We gotta get of here now!" I shout before looking up at the others but my foot slips on a stone and I almost fall before holding the road am tried to scared and trembling from the fear of being eaten. " Hey is it true you're a Evermore!" I hear Mai ask before looking up at them " what question is that for a time like this!" Looking at them when my stomach drops as I see their eyes and faces noticing the disgust and revulsion I have been subconsciously refusing to admit.
The hate or just feeling of not being wanted I see Mai stare down at me before remembering a rumor I once heard,
'did you know that some teams abandon their teammates to save themselves '
"What is with the smile?" Tom asks as he looks down at me. I didn't know I was smiling but deep down I could tell what was about to happen and it hit me like a flood, the memories the acceptance and feeling of family now cold because of something I don't know or did!
I look up to see Mai stare at me one last time but with no sympathy or emotion just like seeing a crippled on the road and not caring, no one says a thing as she pulls out her knife and cuts the rope supporting me.
'so that's it, the end for me!' thinking as I saw them leap using skills and powers of their own to hurry and run from the queen climbing up the cliff due to most of her body being still stuck inside the cliff where it was hiding!
It opens it's jaws before closing it. There's another reason I fear the chimera is that they take abilities for their food but to do that the food is alive for some time sucked dry in the most painful way possible and having mental resilience I was even more alive and feeling the entire process clearly before finally losing consciousness!
A week later hidden cave....
Something I remember about abyssal chimera queen is the ability to give birth to new special soldiers having qualities of it's previous food.
This ability(also known as perfect a synthesis ) makes them a top threat to all races, nations and tribes hence they are hunted and killed before their next evolution after abyssal queen.
In the center of this cave is a cocoan pulsing with energy and power from the mana crystals embedded in the cave walls and around the cocoan four human sized eggs are placed as the heart beats are in sync.
The first egg light gleams before cracks form and an arm breaks out first before the shell breaks to the ground and a six foot redhaired teenager with well defined muscles, pacs bisects, chest back legs every muscle tense and filled with power. The silver glow of the pupils look around the room "where am I, wasn't I eaten!"
