Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Monster under the city.

Back in the stands, Mai began to stand from her seat in fear of what might be happening.

She turned towards Agusteen as if to ask him a question, but the elder man had disappeared.

She and Tsubasa turned back, trying to find the other two DAY operatives Agusteen had pointed out previously.

But they too had also disappeared. "Tsubasa, I'm scared!" Mai called out.

Tsubasa didn't turn towards his terrified friend; rather, his eyes locked on the arena, where three men had gathered.

Akane and Shibara turned to their side, their eyes widening in surprise as they saw Onizuka, Agusteen, and Abiru all standing like legends against the sunlight.

"Augusten?" Came the cold, stoic voice of Onizuka.

"I am he." Agusteen responded as he stroked the wispy hairs on his thin, aged chin.

"What are we dealing with?" Onizuka asked.

"I need a better look at it," Agusteen responded, as the giant began to move once more.

Its eye became more visible as a giant clawed hand slithered over the stadium as if it was searching.

Eventually, the beast rose; its body was far larger than the stadium, eclipsing it with ease.

The crowd began to run, screaming in utter terror.

The beast continued to rise higher and higher into the sunlight sky.

Eventually, the beast rose to one hundred fifty feet tall, casting a cold shadow across the city.

It was a colossus of flesh, built for nothing besides utter destruction.

Its body was a fortress of charcoal grey and dark scales, overlapping like thick plates of armour.

It was not a beauty of a beast; rather, it was an abomination of heavy, brutal muscle that budged out from its skin.

Massive, jagged spikes erupted from its spine and slanted shoulders, like shards of broken glass.

Etched across its stone-like flesh were deep fissures and cracks that glowed with a molten red.

As if its demonic insides burned like the deep pits of hell.

It possessed four gargantuan arms, each thicker than a house, ending in claws that could slice through buildings.

But it was the beast's face that froze everyone's blood like a river during winter.

Framed by sharp bone ridges and horns, the face itself seemed oddly human.

Its jawline was defined with cold bone, a brow, and features that seemed all too human.

Yet it was stretched and wrapped around a skull of stone.

And glaring down from above were four eyes burning with a dark, luminous yellow.

It seemed as if they held the presence of not just a monster who sought destruction, but empathy and sadness.

But down in the arena, the three stood as if this was routine.

"Have you got an idea, Agusteen?" Onizuka asked again.

"Why, yes," Agusteen responded as he fixed his monocle, "from what I can gather, it's a semi-first grade."

"Ah, a semi-first grade?" Abiru responded as he licked his fat, plump lips.

His cold eyes rolled back into his head, leaving just the whites of his eyes.

He smirked as his eyes reappeared, "I'm getting excited!" he exclaimed.

"Does he have a classification, Augustine?" Onizuka questioned.

Augustine brought out a small device; he raised it, scanning the giant beast.

"Ah, there we go," he said as he began to read, "it seems we're dealing with Bōreiō?" He replied.

Onizuka bowed his head, "I send my prayers to the departed soul… may you find your rightful place in heaven or hell."

Onizuka raised his head, his face still cold as ever. He pressed a button on the handle of his briefcase.

The metallic box opened with a slow mechanical hiss, until it left a small cylinder in Onizuka's grasp.

The giant man pressed on the dark metal cylinder.

"Release!" Onizuka ordered with a sharp snap, and the cylinder expanded.

From within, a massive pole began to form, solid and far too heavy for a normal man to hold.

In mere seconds, it expanded, reaching an astonishing six feet.

And at the tip, it unraveled into a terrifyingly jagged shape.

At the head of the mighty forming poleaxe was a large blade.

Amits, the giant serrated blade, was dark, with cracks that had formed inside the deep red blade.

Like molten lava, it had magnificent curved hooks and a serrated edge, capable of tearing through anything.

Eventually, a deep red smoke appeared and dissipated, revealing a long, magnificent glave.

"Kurenai-no-yari, is its name!" Onizuka bellowed.

He wilded the massive weapon with a single large hand, the heady blade held from the floor with strength alone.

The deep red glow illuminated his cold eyes, and for once he seemed urgent to engage this beast.

As the crowd screamed, Onizuka stared down the beast as if he were a god protecting its disciples.

As the monster screeched, hundreds of human-sized spider-like morsels leapt off its body.

"Oh dear, it seems things are getting serious, my friends. I'll handle the smaller Yoketsu, so do take your time." Agusteen said.

Augusten pressed a small button on his monocle, as a small container emerged from its lining.

The small container split in two, and Agusteen placed one inside either hand and crushed them.

Bone-like constructs quickly formed along his hands and wrists, eventually covering his arms up to the elbows.

And then he charged towards the crowd. "People, please exit the building in a safe, orderly manner," he said.

But just then, the beast opened its gargantuan mouth, and as its shard-like teeth emerged, a blue light began to appear.

In an instant, a beam of light blue energy formed in its mouth, with a screech, the beam exploded outwards.

"He's aiming at the crowd, Onizuka!" Agusteen shouted towards the stoic man.

The beam shot from the monster's agape mouth, it shot towards the crowd.

The people remained immobilised, unable to move as the beam approached.

But just in time, Onizuka appeared directly in front of the beam, his spear aimed at the colossal beam.

Onizuka raised his spear high as it held back the beam of energy until the monster began to move its head.

The beam followed its creator as if tracking the now-fleeing crowd.

"Hey, Abiru, help me out here!" Onizuka called towards the short man who still stood in the arena.

"Huhu!" Abiru screeched, "Come to your destroyer!" He bellowed as he charged towards the beast.

Akane and Shibara stared in shock at the distraction surrounding them.

Akane searched for Tsubasa and Mai until she saw Tsubasa struggling to lift fallen debris.

He started to rush over but he was still unable to run.

He fell to the floor, his body face scraped against the stone floor as he dragged his beaten body to his friends.

But just then, six giant spike-like spider legs stuck deep into the stone floor next to Akane's beaten body.

Shibara turned and sprinted towards Akane, his fists ready to fight the six-foot spider beast.

But he was too slow; it raised its jagged feet ready to strike down the crimson kid.

Shibara closed his eyes tightly, not wanting someone whom he saw as a friend to die at the hands of a Yoketsu.

A deafening pop seemed to echo throughout the arena; Shibara felt hot liquid splatter across his body.

His eyes began to tear up; eventually, he opened them, ready to fight.

Only to see purple, gooey blood across his perfect gi.

He looked up through his now hopeful, disappearing tears.

The beast was gone, and in its place, Agusteen smiled and then disappeared, taking on more monsters.

Shibara quickly wiped his tears; he grasped Akane's shoulder.

But in an instant, he shot upwards, his legs buckled as he swiped away Shibara's hand. "We're not friends!" he screamed.

As he continued limping towards his buried friend, Shibara stood frozen still and blank.

Back in the stands, Onizuka continued to hold back the massive energy beam.

As the veins in his muscles and face began to bulge out, straining against the overwhelming power.

The sheer pressure of the clash sent shockwaves, tearing through the air with a screeching burst.

Shattering every window in a fifty-metre radius, Onizuka's muscles bulged against his coat.

"Not bad!" Onizuka roared, his voice boomed across the city like an echoing thunder.

He charged up his arms and launched the blast back towards the beast, "Buy your too slow!" He bellowed.

The energy shot back towards the beast, exploding across its stone face.

Bōreiō let out a horrifying screech as the smoke dissipated, revealing its burnt and charred face.

The beast hurled its four colossal fists at Onizuka, causing the ground to disintegrate in an instant.

The stone crumbled into dust as the impact obliterated an entire side of the arena.

But Onizuka had disappeared.

The beast began to search until its eyes locked onto two men standing calmly on its own house-sized wrist.

The men in question were Onzuka Kurayami and Abiru Geshizuka.

"Look at this big, ugly thing!" Abiru cackled, his voice full of disgusting excitement.

He rose his cane as he unscrewed the heavy golden head of his cane.

With a sharp hiss and a puff of smoke, the heavy golden head slid off the wooden shaft.

And with it came a small cylindrical chamber; in seconds without hesitation, he crushed it in his small, meat-packed hand.

A violent surge of dark smoke erupted, swirling and snapping like it had a mind of its own.

The smoke morphed and fused, extending into a massive, roaring blade; the metal shreeked as it powered to life.

Once the smoke had fully cleared, Abiru held a sword, but it wasn't any ordinary sword.

Its blade spun around in a mechanical loop, and on its blade, it was covered in jagged teeth.

Abiru now held a chainsaw sword.

"Finally!" he screeched, his eyes flicking back into his skull once more.

For a moment, he stayed like this, as if he were in a trance, until a dark, thick tongue slithered out of his small mouth.

With a crunch, his eyes snapped back forward, and he began to cackle.

"I can't wait to play with you!" He paused as he prepared to charge, "Bōreiō!".

He leapt forward with uncanny speed; in seconds, he reached the monster's face.

He raised his sword high over his head, bringing it crashing down onto the monster's stone-like flesh.

In seconds, it began to tear the monster's screaming humanoid face apart. "Oh yes!" Abiru screamed.

As the thick purple blood splattered across his fat face, full of malice.

The monster brought up its other hand as it swung at its own face, trying to squash the short man.

With a crunch heard for miles, the monster brought its fist smashing into its own bone-like face.

Onizuka looked upwards in shock, "No!" he called out.

But then the monster began to screech once more, as a short, fat man burst from its hand, splitting it in two.

Pieces of rock-hard flesh and shattered bone rained down like hail from the heavens.

Abiru emerged, gliding down his sword still held high, ready to strike once more, his body drenched in dark purple blood.

But his mouth was split into a miniscule smirk.

"Did you see that! Did you see how beautiful that was!" He shrieked as he landed on the monster once more.

He looked down at his gloved hands, rubbing the thick blood between his fingers.

As though it were the most exquisite fragrance, his eyes rolling back into his head, he smeared the blood across his face.

"I love! I love! I love blood!" he said as he cackled.

The scream tore from his throat, raw and feral. He didn't wait for the monster to recover.

With a manic laugh, he slammed the roaring chainsaw back into the monster, this time deep in its thick neck.

The teeth shrieked as the clawed deeper, grinding through the monster's hard skin.

With a low, howling cackle, he forced the blade deeper, laughing hysterically as the monster howled in agony.

"Keep screaming! Sing for me! Let me hear your death rattle!" Abiru screamed as a fist struck towards him once more.

He leapt backwards, dodging massive stone fists leaping from one to another.

Until he landed on the monster's head once more, it screamed but not in time to stop Abiru.

He hoisted up his sword and drove the rotating tip deep into the monster's eyes.

"Ohhhh it's so warm…so thick…more! Give me more!" He screamed as the monster's human eyes teared from the pain.

Onizuka clicked his tongue in disgust as he shook his head, his hands still gripped on Kurenai-no-yari.

He leapt high into the air as he shouted, "You maniac, you're enjoying this way too much!"

Despite his words, Onizuka raised his pole high into the sky as he floated still in the sky, slowly falling with grace.

"Abiru, get back! I'm going to strike the joint!" He shouted towards the maniac carving through the monster's throat.

"Go ahead! But leave the meat for me!" Abiru cackled, kicking off the monster's shoulder, landing on its wrist once more.

The monster raised its fist, attempting to strike down Onizuka, as he descended like a comet.

His spear, raised high, aimed for the elbow joint of one of the beast's massive arms.

The spear propelled forward with the force of a cannon, piercing through the scales, shattering them like weak plates of armour.

One of the monster's arms went fully limp until it began to tear away from its bone.

"Shit, I didn't cut far enough!" Onizuka shouted with a frustrated look on his usually stoic face.

But then, purple blood shot from the beast's tearing arm, spraying across the arena like a rainstorm of blood.
