Chapter 5 - Something is watching me (1)

Everyone left the room, leaving Daniel alone on his bed. He brooded over the trans once again.

‎"It was scary. Definitely scary and caught me by surprise. Anyone would react that way if placed in such a situation....right?" Daniel thought.

‎"I've been behaving oddly since my arrival. I just can't pinpoint what is odd about me and when this started"

‎Narrowing his eyes, Daniel said.

‎"What am I even saying" he breathed a sigh and looked at his palms "Will I....be okay?"

‎He groaned and then stood up from his bed, tapping the new set of clothes the lady had left him.

‎"I should take a shower. And get these clothes off"

‎Daniel took off his jumpsuit first, then followed by his torn singlet. Fully revealing his poorly toned dark-skinned body. He was about to go for the underwear next, when it occurred to him that there were no doors.

‎"Damn it" he placed his right palm on his forehead and slid it down to his lips.

‎"What to do, what to do" he muttered, glancing left and right until he caught another space in the wall.

‎"Hah" Daniel smirked lazily.

‎"I suppose that must be the bathroom" he said staring.

He walked up to it in his undies and peeked his head through it, before fully stepping in after confirming there was no one around.

‎"Whoa! They actually got everything you need"

‎"Thought I was going to bath with a giant soap." he chuckled.

‎Daniel began washing his body, covered in steam and soap, as he reminisced over the past events.

‎"I can't bring myself to identify it.....but something is DEFINITELY wrong somewhere" a thought that he couldn't overlook said to him as he scrubbed his body.

‎At that moment, Daniel felt a chill. He turned around immediately to check if someone was watching him. However, there was no one. The bathroom just remained silent.

Daniel gulped.

‎"Is.....Is there anyone there" he called out, only for his voice to just echo through the massive bathroom.

‎There was no response and that cold chill still lingered in his spine. His instinct screamed at him again to run. And Daniel never failed to obey it.

‎"Damn it!" He scowled and instantly started to hasten up and rush his bath. After he was done, Daniel grabbed a towel that was readily sitting on a cloth stand, waiting for him. He cleaned his body immediately and sprinted out of the bathroom.

‎Daniel reached out to the clothes on the bed. They were a white t-shirt and black trousers. They looked old-fashioned but he graciously wore them, since all he wore were rags back on earth.

‎"You forgot to clean your hair" the voice of a man broke the silence causing daniel to jolt. He immediately turned around then relaxed upon seeing that it was one of the house guys.

‎"You startled me" Daniel said to him, receiving the face towel the man offered him.

‎"Haha" the man chuckled with a bass voice.

‎"It's alright. It does happen after all"

‎The two of them laughed over it as Daniel rubbed his hair with the towel.

‎"This hair doesn't wanna dry? Maybe I'll just spread the towel over it" he muttered, hanging the towel and spreading it over his hair— to damp the water.

‎"You should come" the man said to Daniel.

‎"Dinner?" Daniel asked, arcing an eyebrow.

‎"Isn't it too early?"

‎"It's late noon. Which means it isn't"

‎"Here in lost village," he continued,

‎"We prepare and go into bed early, before the sunset. As you already know, to avoid making a single noise at night"

‎Daniel gulped after hearing this as a thought said to him.

‎"Right! The old guy from the entrance said something similar"

‎"I'll be your roommate for the time being. My name's Ben" the man said, reaching out his hand to Daniel for a handshake. This snapped Daniel out of his thoughts.

‎"Ah! I'm Daniel Watchman" Daniel replied, as they both shook hands.
