ON Tuesdays, the students of the Academy of the Fine Arts had classes from five o'clock in the morning to seven o'clock in the evening. Their classes concluded much later than that of the Academy of Speech students, and their schedule was similar to the schedule for the classes held at the Academy of the Shadows. This kind of schedule was implemented to better suit the needs and training programs for the Academy of the Fine Arts students, given that they often had to go outdoors to practice sparring and strengthen their battle intellect and prowess. This was also an effective method for the students to overcome their fear of dueling which they would inevitably be experiencing often in the distant future.

But aside from the outdoor venues designated for practice, the students benefited from the numerous training rooms within their school building. However, many of the trainers preferred that they conduct their sparring sessions in order to build up their endurance in terms of their response to the various types of weather. There were days when it was raining heavily yet the trainers instructed that their training sessions would still be conducted outdoors. In dangerous situations, the weather was quite unpredictable just as we could not always predict when uncharted waters would be dived into. Therefore, the students of the Academies of the Fine Arts and the Shadows made very little to no complaints regarding this arrangement, and if they did have complaints, they kept their mouths shut; they knew that the training, albeit challenging, demanding, and physically challenging, was for their own good. That was a primary desire of theirs: growth and progress that would help them to become more powerful than their future and potential enemies. And they knew that they would have many of those after graduation.

The classrooms were as silent as mice moving through holes at that moment. The Academy of the Fine Arts comprised sections for each level that would help to better organize the groups of students and keep track of them. The room on the far right of the hallway on the first floor, which housed the discussions and lessons as well as training activities for the subject called Magic Control, was one of the most silent of its kind in the academy. This was because the students took great interest in the aforementioned subject being taught to them. Another thing was that they were aware of the fact that Professor Yohan disliked noises, especially when he was discussing something.

Hoshie sat near the front of the classroom as she listened attentively to the professor discussing the greatest influencers in the field of Magic Control. The sounds of moving quills were clear throughout the room as her fellow students took notes. She scribbled down notes on her journal as well, doing her best to avoid missing any details as they would be having a quiz later that week. She was about to ask Professor Yohan a question regarding one of the influencers, a man named Tremaine Walsinki, when there was a knock on the door.

Professor Yohan walked to the wooden door. Upon opening it, he was greeted with a trio of Royal Palace Guards. Many of the students in the classroom exchanged confused glances at the sight of these soldiers. The guards did not often visit the academy buildings though when they did it usually meant that something important or serious was going on.

"Good afternoon, Professor Yohan," one of the guards greeted warmly.

"Good afternoon, Guard," Professor Yohan replied with curiosity in his tone. "Is there something that I may help you with?"

"We are looking for one of your students named Hoshie," the other guard chimed in loudly enough for the students to hear. "She has been requested by the Queen to come to the Palace."

At this announcement the students whipped their heads toward Hoshie whose eyes widened. What did I do?

"Ah, yes, yes," Professor Yohan replied, turning to Hoshie. "Hoshie. Please come over here."

Aware of the eyes boring into her figure, Hoshie rose to her feet and walked over to Professor Yohan. The guards stared at her for a moment before the third one spoke up.

"Hoshie, Queen Dalliah has requested for your presence at the Palace," the guard said. "Please come with us."

"Thank you, Professor Yohan," the first guard who had spoken said to the professor, who merely smiled in response before he patted Hoshie on the shoulder. Wordlessly, he shut the door behind Hoshie and the three guards.

"Is everything all right, Guard?" Hoshie inquired as they made their way outside the Academy building. The two guards ignored her while one shook his head. "Sorry. All we know is that we were given instructions to escort you to the Royal Palace. That's it."

Hoshie nodded as uneasiness crept into her heart, which was normally stout but was now racing a hundred miles per minute. The fact that the guards were not willing to discuss the matter signified that it was indeed a grave situation. This would be the first time that Hoshie was summoned to the Royal Palace individually; all she hoped was that she was not in trouble and would leave the Palace unscathed or without a bounty on her head.
