Chapter 1 - The Day Fate Broke

Chapter 1: Betrayal in the Void

In the vast expanse of the void, where neither light nor darkness held dominion, two figures stood facing each other.

There was no ground beneath them. No sky above. Only endless nothingness—silent, eternal, and cold.

Yet their presence alone distorted that nothingness.

They looked like young men, no older than twenty.

But that was a lie.

Their existence had spanned countless eras.

Their beauty was unnatural—faces flawless like carved jade, their forms radiant like twinkling stars. Each breath they took caused ripples in the void, as if reality itself struggled to endure their existence.

Between them, space trembled.

A single clash from either of them could shatter millions of planets in an instant.

One of them stepped forward.

His long black hair flowed behind him like a river of darkness. His eyes… his eyes contained something impossible—countless universes seemed to be born and destroyed within them every second.

Cold. Detached. Absolute.

He raised his hand slowly.

In it, a weapon appeared.

A blade.

But it was no ordinary weapon.

It was the Sect's Holy Weapon—Void Devourer.

The moment it manifested, the surrounding emptiness twisted violently. Streams of invisible essence began to flow toward the blade, as if the void itself was being consumed.

It hummed.

Hungry.

Every second it existed, it absorbed the very fabric of nothingness, growing heavier, denser, more terrifying.

Across from him, the other young man stood frozen.

His silver hair shimmered faintly, his expression filled with disbelief… and pain.

"…Why?" his voice echoed weakly through the void.

They had walked the path together.

Countless years. Endless battles. Life and death situations they had survived side by side.

Brothers not by blood, but by fate.

And yet—

The man holding the blade showed no emotion.

"You're going to die here."

His voice was calm.

As if stating a simple truth.

The silver-haired man's eyes trembled. Within them too were countless stars—but now, those stars flickered, collapsing one by one.

"You… you would kill me? After everything?"

No answer came.

Only silence.

And then—

The blade moved.

A single swing.

There was no flash of light. No sound.

But the void itself screamed.

A wave of absolute destruction surged forward, devouring everything in its path. The attack carried a terrifying force, as if millions of worlds were being crushed into nothingness at once.

The silver-haired man reacted instantly.

Power erupted from his body, forming layers upon layers of defense. Space folded. Laws twisted.

But it was useless.

The moment the attack touched him—

It devoured.

The void essence surrounding him was absorbed, dismantled, erased.

"Ugh—!"

His body was sent flying, crashing through layers of space like shattered glass. Cracks spread across his form, blood drifting weightlessly into the void.

He barely managed to stabilize himself.

"How… can it be this strong…?"

His voice shook.

That weapon… it wasn't just powerful.

It was alive.

Every attack made it stronger, feeding on the void, turning nothingness into absolute destruction.

Across from him, the black-haired man lowered his blade.

His expression remained unchanged.

But his eyes—

Endless universes turned within them.

Creation. Destruction. Rebirth.

All of it meaningless.

"You were always too naive," he said quietly.

The silver-haired man clenched his fists.

"Naive…? For trusting you?!"

For a brief moment—

Something flickered in the attacker's gaze.

Then it vanished.

"Trust is irrelevant."

The void around him began to collapse inward, spiraling toward the blade in his hand.

"I have seen the truth of this world."

His voice turned colder.

"Everything… must be destroyed."

The pressure intensified.

Even the void itself could no longer remain stable.

The silver-haired man's body trembled. Not from fear—

But from despair.

"…So this is how it ends…"

He looked up

At the man he once called brother.

"…If I must die…"

A faint glow began to rise from his body.

"…then I will make sure you remember me."

For the first time—

The black-haired man's eyes narrowed slightly.

And the void—

Shattered.
