“Look at it!” Kṣaya’s laughter roared as he mocked the foundations of the world—the soil beneath and the sky above. High above was the burning canopy; while below, people had turned into monsters of pure greed. He paced around Shèng Tiān-Yī, who knelt upon the ground, the weight of a lost battle bowing her head.

Kṣaya’s eyes gleamed with a cruel, intoxicating triumph.

"I am the God of this world," he declared. "I am the fate of the universe. And you? You are nothing but a memory fading into the mud."

He threw his arms wide, laughing like a demon who had just consumed the world. And he had!

Tiān-Yī did not look up. A single tear traced a path through the scars on her face, falling silently onto her palm. She knew a truth he had forgotten: Nature does not bargain; it balances.

"Enjoy your rule, Kṣaya," she whispered, her voice full of a warning. "But remember... those who try to claim the Vṛkṣa-Maṇḍala never find a graceful end."

Deep within her soul, where his arrogance could never reach, she felt a flicker. The one who will end you has already been born, she told herself. Kṣaya heard nothing but his own glory. He didn't know the clock had already started ticking.

A small, unnoticed smirk touched her lips.

Your end is coming, Kṣaya. Very soon.

A Century of Deep Silence.


A splash. A gasp.

Cold, thick mud covered a mouth that had been screaming just moments ago. A young person jerked awake in a puddle, surrounded by mud-streaked children with eyes like forest demons with shining stone on their forehead.

"Where... am I?"

"You’re in the Vṛkṣa-Maṇḍala, sleeper," a child sneered.

Before another word could be spoken, the children reached down, grabbing a fresh handful of heavy silt and stuffed it into the man’s mouth, silencing him instantly.

"Now shut up," the boy mocked, his eyes glinting. "And grow."

​As a huge fan of fiction and world-building myself, I am incredibly grateful to finally bring this concept to life. Whenever I read novels about imaginary worlds, I often felt there was a lack of detail in the scenes. It sometimes made it hard to truly "see" the world the author was describing. 


​Because of that, in this novel, I am focusing on writing very detailed chapters to make your experience as immersive as possible. 


My goal isn't to over-explain, but I believe that when we are exploring a world as unique as the Vṛkṣa-Maṇḍala, the details are what make it feel real. 


However, this story is for you. If you ever feel that the descriptions are becoming too much, or if you prefer a faster pace, I am always ready to listen and make changes accordingly.
