Chapter 3 - Chapter 1 - The King of the Night

Night was the hour when the world surrendered to sleep.

But for him… the night was when his world awakened.

At exactly 1:00 a.m., a quiet knock echoed through the long corridor of the private mansion.

The heavy door opened slowly.

Lee Sang-woo stepped inside, stopping respectfully near the entrance. His posture was straight, his eyes lowered in silent respect.

Hidden deep within a dark forest, far away from the glowing lights of Seoul, stood a massive mansion unknown to the world. Surrounded by towering trees and guarded gates, the estate looked less like a residence and more like a silent fortress.

Security cameras lined every corner of the property.

Armed guards patrolled the outer perimeter.

Inside the mansion, everything moved with disciplined silence.

Because everyone here served only one man.

Inside one of the dimly lit rooms sat that man on a black throne-like chair, surrounded by stacks of confidential files and glowing monitors displaying financial reports, global charts, and surveillance data.

A pair of reading glasses rested on his sharp face as his deep chocolate-brown eyes scanned the documents before him with unsettling calm.

He wore black from head to toe.

The color only deepened the dangerous aura that surrounded him.

On the right side of his desk rested a loaded gun.

Not as decoration.

But as a message.

Anyone foolish enough to cross the line… would meet it.

The man sitting there was Rae Min.

To the world, he was known as the brilliant and mysterious CEO of RM Entertainment, the most powerful entertainment company in Asia. His empire controlled music labels, film studios, global tours, and countless rising stars.

Artists dreamed of signing with his company.

Investors competed for his approval.

And yet, very few people had ever actually met him.

His face rarely appeared in public.

His interviews were almost nonexistent.

To the public, he was a legendary CEO who ruled the entertainment industry from the shadows.

But in the darker corners of Asia…

Where power was measured in fear instead of fame…

Another title followed his name.

One that no newspaper would ever dare print.

The Mafia King of Asia.

A king whose empire stretched through underground networks, secret alliances, and ruthless power.

And tonight, that king was working.

"Hyeongnim," Sang-woo spoke carefully, lowering his head.

"Kabir sir has called. He asked you to come to India regarding the deal."

For a moment, Rae Min didn't react.

His eyes continued scanning the page as if the world itself could wait.

Then slowly…

He lifted his gaze.

Without saying a word, he extended his hand.

Sang-woo immediately understood and placed the phone in his palm after dialing Kabir's number.

The call connected.

Rae Min leaned back in his chair, his voice low… calm… and dangerously cold.

"Why?"

On the other side of the line, Kabir responded quickly, clearly aware of the man he was speaking to.

"Rea… the CEO of AR Entertainment is demanding your presence in India for the final deal. Otherwise, they will cancel the agreement."

Silence filled the room.

A heavy silence.

Even the air seemed to freeze.

Rae Min slowly removed his glasses and placed them on the desk.

"Cancel?" he repeated softly.

Sang-woo swallowed nervously.

He had seen many powerful men threaten deals before.

None of them lasted long.

Kabir cleared his throat nervously on the phone.

"They insist the negotiation must happen face to face."

"Apparently the CEO doesn't negotiate with shadows."

Rae Min leaned back in his chair, his long fingers tapping once against the desk beside the gun.

India.

Interesting.

His entertainment company had business across continents — Europe, America, Japan.

But India…

That market was growing faster than anyone expected.

Films.

Music.

Global streaming.

And AR Entertainment had quickly become one of the most influential companies in the region.

Kabir continued carefully.

"The CEO is Yuvraj Rajput… heir of the Rajput royal family and owner of AR Entertainment."

"A very influential man in India."

For a brief moment, Rae Min's eyes darkened slightly.

A royal heir.

A prince of business.

Demanding his presence.

A faint smirk slowly appeared on Rae Min's lips.

Cold.

Dangerous.

"So," Rae Min said quietly,

"a prince thinks he can summon a king."

Sang-woo remained silent.

Even Kabir stopped breathing on the line.

Rae Min slowly stood up from his chair.

His tall figure cast a long shadow across the dim room.

Behind him, the monitors continued glowing softly — displaying stock markets, entertainment profits, international partnerships, and darker networks hidden behind encrypted screens.

Two worlds.

One face.

One king.

His eyes shifted toward the large glass window beside his desk.

Beyond the forest, the distant lights of Seoul shimmered under the night sky.

To the world, that city believed Rae Min was simply a brilliant businessman.

They admired his success.

They respected his empire.

But they had no idea what truly lived in the shadows behind it.

Kabir's voice finally returned through the phone.

"So… what should I tell them?"

For a moment, Rae Min remained silent.

Then the word India echoed again in his mind.

Strangely…

It stirred a faint memory.

A distant image buried somewhere deep in his mind.

Music.

A dance studio.

A girl spinning under golden lights.

Graceful.

Fearless.

Beautiful.

The memory vanished as quickly as it appeared.

Rae Min's expression hardened instantly.

Memories were useless in his world.

He turned back toward Sang-woo.

"Prepare the jet."

Sang-woo blinked in surprise.

"To India?" he asked carefully.

Rae Min adjusted the cuffs of his black coat.

"Yes."

His voice was calm… but filled with quiet danger.

"Let's see who is brave enough…"

"…to summon a king."
