Chapter 11: The Demon Sister is also an Idiot

A normal student hearing a teacher speak like that would definitely be shaken, perhaps even assuming the teacher was hinting that they had gotten a question wrong.

However, Katsuragi Keima did not hesitate for a second.

"No need. I want to hand it in now."

Looking into Keima's incredibly firm eyes, Chabashira Sae merely narrowed her eyes slightly and said with a smile:

"Fine. I agree to let you hand it in early. However, there are only ten minutes left until the official collection; I'd like to hear your reason for leaving early."

"The reason is simple. I just want to hand it in early so I can eat at the cafeteria and then play games to my heart's content. After all, taking out a handheld console during a test is easily mistaken for cheating, so I thought I'd just hand it in early."

Keima spoke to Chabashira Sae with a face full of earnestness.

"?"

For the first time, a look of utter confusion surfaced on Chabashira Sae's face. she even spent half a second confirming whether she had misheard him.

'Choosing to hand in a paper early just to play games? And saying that right to my face as his teacher?'

Back in the classroom, Keima had been playing games the entire time as well.

Chabashira had led Class D before and had seen how students gradually descended into slacking off, but on the first day, they would usually restrain themselves at least a little bit.

She had never seen anyone as "arrogant" as Katsuragi Keima.

However, it didn't matter. She would soon witness exactly what his strength was worth.

"I will grade the results of this test and announce them in the class group chat later. You can check them on your student terminals. Since you've chosen to hand it in early, please leave the classroom now."

"Mm."

Keima had already packed up his stationery; he stood up immediately and left the classroom.

Horikita Suzune watched Keima's departing figure in shock.

'He... he finished? He even finished the last question?'

Horikita felt her inner resolve waver. She had a fair amount of confidence in her academic performance, but even she had to admit the difficulty of that final question was quite high.

Yet, even so, Katsuragi Keima had not only finished it but handed it in early?

Was he for real? Hadn't he been playing games from start to finish?

'No, I can't think about that guy anymore. I can't let myself be influenced by him.'

Horikita quickly lowered her head and refocused her attention on the test questions.

Just as she gripped her pen and cleared her thoughts, another voice rang out from nearby.

"Sensi! I want to hand mine in too!"

The speaker was none other than Elsie.

'What is with these siblings?!'

About thirty minutes later, at the cafeteria.

"There are no classes this afternoon, so I can go back to the dorm and play as many games as possible!"

Keima had almost finished his meal and was preparing to head back to the dorm to enjoy himself. Previously, Keima had some resistance toward this school, but after just one day, his attitude had undergone a heaven-flipping change.

'This place is actually pretty great!'

Although it had strange systems and rules, in a sense, the students here had quite a bit of free space, and the school was stocked with every kind of facility and product—

Of course, the only thing Keima cared about was games.

"Kami-nii-sama! Pay a little attention to our mission!"

Elsie, following beside him, tugged at Keima's arm and shook it repeatedly.

"I know, I know..." Keima said quickly, feeling a bit dizzy from the shaking.

Just then, both of their student terminals vibrated almost simultaneously. Keima took out his terminal and looked at the screen; what met his eyes was the pop quiz grade sheet.

[1st Place: Katsuragi Keima – 100 points]

Keima found his own score instantly—as if he already knew exactly where he would appear. After confirming his grade, Keima tucked the terminal away, looking completely indifferent.

"As expected of Kami-nii-sama! You actually got first place?!"

Beside him, Elsie looked at Keima with eyes full of worship. She hadn't expected Keima, whose mind was usually on games, to have such good grades.

"This is something that should be expected," Keima replied nonchalantly.

In his school in the previous world, Keima had used his extremely superior grades to exchange for the privilege of playing games in class. This school emphasized the word "strength" everywhere—

Academic performance should be included in that strength.

If you have enough strength, you can do whatever you want. In a sense, this school was Keima's paradise. As long as his grades were good enough, he could play games even more freely!

"Speaking of which, how were your grades? You handed yours in right after me, didn't you?"

"Um, Kami-nii-sama, hehe... don't look..."

Elsie hurriedly reached out to try and stop Keima, but this only piqued his interest further. He picked up his terminal again to check. He scrolled down the rankings but failed to see Elsie's name for a long time. After a few seconds, he finally saw her score.

[40th Place: Katsuragi Elsie – 8 points]

"?"

Keima froze for a moment, then wiped the screen of his phone.

"Did I miss a digit? Or do you really only have a single-digit score? Sudo Ken, who is second to last, has double your score!"

"I can't be blamed for this, Kami-nii-sama! Even though I've been trying to study hard, there are some questions I really don't understand!" Elsie replied, pouting slightly.

"You're actually proud of it? You handed it in early even with such a terrible score?"

"Anyway... staying there wouldn't have helped me solve them."

"."

Keima fell into a brief silence.

"Wait, Kami-nii-sama! I have an idea!"

At that moment, Elsie seemed to think of something. She snatched Keima's terminal away and pressed it against her raiment. A faint mist drifted past.

"What are you doing?"

"It's done!"

Elsie handed the terminal back to Keima, who hurriedly checked to see what she had done.

[3rd Place: Katsuragi Elsie – 99 points]

"I solved it by modifying my grade!"

Elsie patted her chest proudly, having just activated her powers as a demon.

"How can you solve it like that! It would be terrible if the teacher found out... No, wait!"

Keima thought of something and grabbed Elsie's own terminal. On the grade sheet on Elsie's terminal, her score was still dead last.

"Did you... only change the grade sheet on my terminal?"

"Oh no! It looks like I have to change everyone's!"

"That's not the point at all, you idiot!"
