Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5: First Dinner

The villa was buzzing with activity. The contestants had all arrived, twelve girls now gathered in the sleek kitchen and dining area.

A hum of chatter filled the space as the crew quietly monitored from the corner.

Introductions

"Alright, let's go around and introduce ourselves," a soft voice instructed, pointing to the group.

Kim Sohee was the first to speak. She stood tall, hair perfectly styled, arms folded.

"I'm Sohee," she said, voice calm and precise. "I like quiet places and good books." She sat down without looking at anyone else, eyes scanning the room with sharp focus.

Han Jiwon bounced on her heels as she introduced herself.

"I'm Jiwon! I love chatting and making people laugh!" She waved at everyone, earning small smiles and a few raised eyebrows.

Yerin went next. Hands slightly trembling, she forced a small smile.

"I'm… Ahn Yerin. Um… I like cooking and trying new foods." She avoided eye contact with most of the girls, glancing nervously at the kitchen counter.

Park Sora spoke softly, bowing slightly.

"Sora. I enjoy calm moments, music, and tea." Her tone was soothing, drawing a few approving nods.

Lim Jiyeon smirked at the group.

"Jiyeon. I'm… straightforward. Don't expect me to sugarcoat things." She slouched casually in her chair, giving off an unbothered vibe.

Lee Haerin quietly introduced herself, almost under her breath.

"Haerin. I like minimalism… and thinking things through." Her calm gaze flicked briefly at the others, unshaken by Jiwon's energy.

Kang Minji grinned as she stretched her arms.

"Minji. I like sports, challenges, and… making things interesting." She shot a teasing look at Jiyeon, who raised an eyebrow in return.

Yoo Chaewon smiled shyly.

"Chaewon. I enjoy reading, baking, and… quiet conversations." Her gentle tone softened the room slightly.

Shin Areum practically bounced as she spoke.

"I'm Areum! I love to talk, laugh, and eat a lot! Don't mind me if I'm too loud!" She winked at Jiwon, who giggled.

Bae Dahye introduced herself flatly.

"Dahye. I prefer observing to talking." She moved to the corner, folding her arms, exuding calm detachment. No one challenged her; her presence was noticeable without effort.

Seo Yejin smiled politely.

"Yejin. I enjoy painting and quiet spaces… but I'm happy to join group activities." Her voice was soft, drawing nods from Sora and Haerin.

Finally, Jung Haeun leaned against the counter, smirk in place.

"Haeun. I enjoy teasing people and… seeing how they react." A few girls glanced at her cautiously, sensing the subtle challenge in her tone.

Cooking and Dinner

After introductions, the girls split into two groups to prepare dinner. Yerin was paired with Chaewon, Haerin, and Sora, trying her best to hide her nervousness.

"So… what should we make first?" Yerin asked, scanning the kitchen.

Chaewon smiled softly.

"Maybe we can start with something simple… like pasta?"

Haerin nodded.

"Keep it neat. Don't waste ingredients."

Sora hummed, already chopping vegetables carefully.

Meanwhile, in the other group, Jiyeon rolled her eyes at Minji's stretching.

"You're going to trip over something if you keep showing off."

Minji laughed.

"Maybe I will. Keeps things fun!"

Areum and Jiwon chattered nonstop, spilling flour and laughing. Haeun stood back, smirking at the chaos, occasionally tossing small comments that made everyone roll their eyes.

Dahye remained silent in her corner, peeling vegetables with precise, measured movements. Nobody tried to talk to her—she didn't invite it, and her calm detachment made others hesitant.

Dinner and Casual Gist

By the time dinner was served, the group gathered around the large wooden table.

"So… what's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?" Areum asked, shoving a piece of bread in her mouth.

"Oh! I tried octopus once," Jiwon said excitedly. "It kept moving—alive!" She made everyone laugh.

"I don't eat unusual things," Sohee commented, coolly. "I prefer safe choices."

"Safe is boring," Jiyeon muttered, smirking.

Yerin quietly ate, trying to listen without getting involved in the loud discussions. Just survive the night… observe… she thought.

Minji tried to spark a mini-competition.

"Who can finish this portion first?" she teased, nudging Areum, who immediately protested loudly, laughing.

Soft giggles came from Chaewon, Sora, and Yejin as they exchanged polite commentary on flavors and cooking skills.

Dahye silently tasted her food, making a small approving nod to herself. No one noticed.

Haeun leaned back in her chair, observing the table. "This is… surprisingly lively," she said dryly, earning laughter from Jiwon and Areum.

By the end of the meal, the girls were relaxed, though still not close. Conversations were light, teasing, and playful. Small personalities had emerged: the loud ones, the calm observers, the playful challengers, and the detached.

Yerin's nerves had settled slightly, though she was still panicking inside about the lack of boys. She reminded herself: Just stay… observe… survive… and maybe have fun.

Dinner ended, dishes cleared, but the energy in the room hinted that this was only the beginning. Twelve girls. Twelve personalities. And many stories yet to unfold.
