My abductor dismissed me after he finished his breakfast. One of his servants led me back to my room. I sat down on the bed, crying. I tried to think of the best way to escape but nothing came to my mind. This house is quite huge and luxurious. For sure, a lot of guards are patrolling around this place. I can't escape.
"Ma'am... are you fine?" I heard the servant nervously asking me. I looked up and found her standing stiffly near the door.
I blinked my eyes and wiped my tears. "No..."
"May I know which causes you not to be fine?" she asked.
My brows creased. Is she oblivious that her boss just abducted me?
"That man, he k-kidnapped me," I said, referring to her boss.
She wasn't even fazed when I told her that I was kidnapped. There are probably other people who've been kidnapped aside from me.
"I see..." Was all she said before she went mute again.
She just stood there, motionless. Her face was stoic and her posture was too stiff.
"W-What's your name?"
"Eliza."
"Eliza..." I uttered and tilted my head in confusion. "Why are you standing there?"
"Master instructed me to be your aid for the time being. To give you what you ask for."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"But you didn't ask my question. Why are you just standing there?" I pouted. "Come. Sit beside me."
Her eyes widened, though, she quickly composed herself. She shook her head. "No."
"Why?" I whined.
"I-It's not proper for a maid to sit beside her master's guest."
"I'm not his guest." I pursed my lips. "I told you, he kidnapped me. So please, come and sit down."
She hesitated for a while. After a couple of seconds thinking about it, she sighed and nodded her head.
"Okay..."
She sat stiffly next to me.
"Eliza. Can I ask you a question?"
"Anything, ma'am."
A smile made its own way to my lips. "Great. Uhm, may I ask how long have you been working on this house?"
"For about 10 years now."
"Wow. 10 years? You must know a lot of him since you've worked here that long."
She was taken aback by my words. She gasped silently and pursed her lips into a thin line. "Even though I've been working here for a decade now, it does not mean I know a lot of masters."
"Hmm... but you must know his name, right?"
"Y-Yeah."
"Can you tell me his name?"
She paused. "I'm afraid I can't answer that, ma'am."
I feel sad because she wasn't willing to tell me his name, but I understood that she was only doing her job as a servant. She might get fired if she spills some information that her master doesn't want to be spilled.
"I understand..." I sighed sadly. "But... Do you know what he is?" She raised a brow. "I-I'm mean... he's not normal. His eyes change."
"You don't... know?"
I shook my head.
"Strange. But his kin is your family's enem—" she wasn't able to finish off her words when the door suddenly burst open and the man with crimson eyes barged in.
Eliza and I stood up and trembled against his angry stare.
The poor servant dropped to her knees. "Forgive me for my insolence, master! I didn't mean to talk behind your back—"
"Get out."
Eliza didn't say a word and quickly obeyed what was ordered her to do.
Now, it was him and I left in the room. Alone.
"W-Why are you here?" I asked fearfully as I backed away from him.
"Oh, I just realised this is my house and I'm free to roam around," he sarcastically retorted.
I was lost for words.
I bit my trembling lips and fisted my hands as I felt my tears threatening to fall from the corner of my eyes. "Why did you kidnap me?" I asked.
He chuckled and threw himself on the bed, sitting down comfortably on the soft mattress.
"I'm quite impressed you haven't done anything to kill me yet," he spoke and stared into my eyes. I looked away from him. "Do you miss your parents? I bet they missed you now. They are probably worried sick thinking of you, prey."
A tear fell on my cheek.
He tsked. "You're more vulnerable than I thought you were."
"I will r-report you to the cops! I-I'm sure my mom and dad are searching for me n-now and once they find me, we'll find a case against you!"
"Oh?" he chuckled.
"Yes!"
He scoffed and stood up, putting his hands on his pockets. I involuntarily stepped backwards when he started advancing towards me.
I glared at him.
"Y-You are not a human! What are you? Are y-you evil?"
He smirked. "Figuratively and literally. Yes, I am."
I clutched my chest where my heart was located. "W-What... what... do you want f-from me, then?"
"Simply," he said as he leaned his face down a bit to level mine. He took a strand of my hair and tucked it behind my ear. He continued, "What I want from you... is your death."
**
He eventually left the room right after just frightening the hell out of me. I still don't know what his name is. But it wasn't any of my concern right now. I want to go home and get away from this creepy man.
The way his eye colour changes is so strange. I have never heard of any creatures aside from what is already known by humans. He may be one of those supernatural beings.
The more reason I must get away from him.
He's not normal. He's short-tempered and absolutely scary. One minute he would smile at me and the next minute, he would threaten and scare me.
I was locked up in the chamber. The only thing that gets me out of boredom is the fact that they deliver delicious food and sweets. I should be losing my appetite due to my state right now, but I found myself eating a lot.
The next day—I think, since I basically don't know what time it is—the man paid me a short visit. He didn't say anything. He was just silently observing me as I ate my breakfast. After that, he left.
I smiled bitterly.
"If he really wants my death... then why am I alive until now?"
