Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: The Sovereign’s Reply

Three days later, the skies above Crimson Nebula World darkened with purpose.

Tianhen stood on the deck of the largest starship in his growing fleet — the God Rock's Edge — its hull gleaming with reinforced arrays he had personally inscribed using the God Rock. Behind him, the entire palace complex watched in reverent silence. Li Qing stood at the railing with their children: Xingchen gripping a small sword, Qinglan holding Mingyue, and Lin Hao and Lin Mei standing tall in new black-and-silver training robes embroidered with the family crest.

"Be careful, Father," Lin Mei said softly, her small hand clutching his sleeve one last time. "Come back safe."

Lin Hao's eyes burned with determination. "We'll protect Mother and the little ones while you're gone. We've been training hard."

Tianhen placed a hand on each of their heads, voice steady and warm. "I know you will. You are my son and daughter. Protect our family. I will return soon."

He kissed Li Qing deeply, one hand resting gently on her rounded belly. "Hold the fort, my flame. This ends today."

Li Qing's phoenix eyes shone with fierce pride and love. "Come back to us, husband. We are waiting."

The starship tore through the void, crossing the border in less than an hour thanks to Tianhen's perfected Space Dao. When it emerged above Shadowveil Kingdom's capital planet — Shadowveil Prime — the entire royal city fell into stunned silence.

Tianhen descended alone from the ship, black robes fluttering, God Rock pulsing in his storage ring. His aura — peak Core Formation fused with multiple Grand Daos — pressed down like an invisible mountain. The royal palace guards raised weapons, but their hands trembled.

King Luo Zhan appeared on the grand balcony, flanked by his strongest Nascent Soul elders. The king was a thin, sharp-faced man with greedy eyes. He tried to maintain dignity, but fear leaked into his voice.

"Sovereign Tianhen… this is an unexpected visit. If you have come to discuss tribute—"

"No," Tianhen cut him off, voice calm yet carrying across the entire capital. "I have come to deliver my final warning in person."

He raised his hand. The God Rock flared.

Space folded. Time slowed for everyone except him.

In the blink of an eye, Tianhen appeared directly in front of King Luo Zhan. His spirit sword flashed once — a clean, controlled cut.

The king's right arm fell to the ground in a spray of blood, severed cleanly at the shoulder. Luo Zhan screamed, collapsing to his knees as blood poured onto the marble.

The Nascent Soul elders lunged forward.

Tianhen moved like a ghost.

One elder lost both legs at the knees in a single spatial-compressed slash, blood fountaining as he toppled. Another had his chest opened from collarbone to waist, organs glistening before he could even scream. The third managed to raise a shield — only for Tianhen to slow time around it with Mei's budding technique and drive his sword straight through the elder's heart.

Three elite Nascent Soul guards fell in under ten seconds, limbs severed, blood painting the royal balcony crimson.

Tianhen stood over the screaming king, sword tip pressed lightly against Luo Zhan's throat.

"Your passive aggression ends today," he said coldly. "Your raids, your sabotage, your insults to my people — they stop. Crimson Nebula offers peace to those who respect its borders. But if you ever threaten my family's prosperity again, I will return with my full force and turn Shadowveil Prime into a lifeless rock."

He tossed a specially crafted Tianhen Void Anchor onto the king's lap — one infused with a powerful tracking and suppression rune.

"Wear this. It will remind you daily that your life is now in my hands. If you remove it or plot against me, it will activate and drag you into the void itself."

King Luo Zhan clutched the bracelet with his remaining hand, face pale and slick with sweat. "I… I understand… Sovereign. Peace. We want peace."

Tianhen sheathed his sword and turned away, leaving the king bleeding on his own balcony.

As he walked back to the starship, the people of Shadowveil Prime watched in terrified awe. News would spread like wildfire across the Starry Sky: the Bracelet Sovereign had invaded a rival kingdom's capital alone, crippled its ruler, and left without losing a single drop of his own blood.

Back on Crimson Nebula World, the people erupted in celebration when the starship returned victorious.

Shrines overflowed with offerings. Songs were composed in the streets praising the God Rock Sovereign who protected their prosperity with ruthless mercy. Parents brought their children to the palace gates, hoping for a blessing or even a glance from the man they now openly called a living god.

That night, Tianhen reunited with his family in the palace gardens.

Lin Hao and Lin Mei ran to him first, hugging him tightly.

"You're back, Father!" Mei cried happily.

Hao's eyes shone with admiration. "We heard what you did. One day we'll be strong enough to stand beside you like that."

Xingchen and Qinglan cheered, waving their wooden swords. Mingyue cooed in Li Qing's arms.

Tianhen gathered them all close, then pulled Li Qing into a deep, passionate kiss that promised everything.

Later, after the children slept, he and Li Qing celebrated in their chambers with fierce, loving intensity. Her body moved against his with desperate relief and pride, moans turning into cries of ecstasy as they reached climax together again and again, reaffirming their unbreakable bond.

As they lay entwined afterward, Li Qing traced his chest.

"Our family is safe. Our empire is stronger. And those two children… they look at you like you hung the stars."

Tianhen smiled softly. "They are my children too. All of them."

Outside, the people continued their worship, the land prospered beyond measure, and the once-jealous Shadowveil Kingdom had been cowed into silence.

But Tianhen knew the Starry Sky held greater threats.

For now, however, he had secured his territory, strengthened his family — blood and chosen — and sent a message that would echo across the stars.

The God Rock Sovereign's empire had taken its first true stand.

And it would only grow from here.
