Chapter 3 - 2

The next morning, Eldoria was deceptively calm. Fog rolled over the rooftops, muting the clamor of merchants and street vendors. Ryan wandered the streets, trying to make sense of the night before. The woman's words echoed in his mind. Survive the night… survive the night. But survive what?

Kael, a silent figure who seemed to appear from nowhere, intercepted him near an abandoned fountain. He was lean, with hair as dark as the shadows that now clung to Ryan.

"You've felt it," Kael said simply. "You are not like the others. And that is dangerous."

Ryan frowned. "What are you talking about?"

Kael's eyes softened briefly before hardening. "Power attracts predators. Shadows are not just tools—they are alive. And if you don't learn to control them, they will control you."

Kael led Ryan through the forgotten parts of Eldoria: crumbling alleyways, silent courtyards, and a hidden library beneath the city streets. Scrolls and tomes lined the walls, yellowed with age. The history of the Moonshadow stared back at him from every page: warriors who had controlled shadows to protect or destroy, betrayals that had shattered empires, and a prophecy repeating over centuries—When the Moonshadow awakens, the balance will tip.

Ryan felt the weight of destiny pressing down on him. Shadows whispered around him as he read, warning, guiding, tempting. He realized that his powers were not new—they were ancient, and the enemies hunting him had been waiting centuries for his awakening.
