Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Zong Yujin put away his indifference and scrutinized the person in front of him.

He was wearing the most ordinary school uniform, and the white canvas shoes on his feet looked like the kind that cost one or two hundred yuan a pair in stores.

Apart from that, there were no other decorations.

With his school uniform being the most expensive thing on him, he actually dared to say he would pay with money.

Truly, he was overestimating his own capabilities.

Yet, being looked at by those watery eyes, the harsh words Zong Yujin had on the tip of his tongue simply wouldn't come out.

Luo Mio was truly feeling tormented at this moment; the Male Lead kept staring at him, what exactly was he trying to do?

It couldn't be... was he thinking of making him his servant!?

He immediately looked up and shouted: "classmate!" Seeing the other party staring at him as if waiting for him to continue, he hurriedly said.

"I really have money. How much does your clothing cost? I'll pay you right now."

So don't think about making me run errands and suffer like the Protagonist Shou.

Zong Yujin narrowed his eyes. He thought that he had just been wrong about one thing.

The most expensive thing on him wasn't his school uniform, but that face and those eyes.

Previously, due to the height difference between the two and the angle, he hadn't clearly seen his appearance.

Plus, being first attracted by those eyes, his attention hadn't been focused enough.

Only now, as he raised his head, could he see him clearly.

It was just...

He scrutinized him up and down once more, his sharp gaze fixed firmly on his face, wanting to see a trace of a joke there.

However, apart from nervousness, there was nothing else.

And that nervousness was of the kind that feared he wouldn't accept the money.

Zong Yujin finally became interested, his brows twitching slightly. "You can't even tell how much it costs, are you sure you can afford to pay?"

He changed the subject, "How about this: considering you're so pitiful, I won't take your money. You can be my servant instead to pay off the debt."

"!"

Luo Mio's eyes widened, round and full of disbelief.

He had already said he would pay, so why did the plot still circle back to him having to be the Male Lead's servant?

Unfair!

Just thinking about how he would be bossed around and given a hard time by the Male Lead in the future made Luo Mio's skin crawl.

He absolutely could not agree to this.

He rummaged through his pockets, pulled out a stack of checks, and shoved them all at Zong Yujin.

"Here, money for you. We're even now. Goodbye."

After saying that, he turned and ran, so fast that he was out of the cafeteria in the blink of an eye.

Zong Yujin: "..."

"Heh... I didn't expect this kid to be so interesting, right, Jin?"

Lan Ziyi, who had been smiling faintly the whole time, couldn't help but laugh out loud, watching the direction where Luo Mio had left, his eyes filled with a gentleness like the sea.

He hadn't interjected from beginning to end, assuming it was just another one of those tactics to attract their attention.

Who would have thought...

Zong Yujin glanced at Lan Ziyi indifferently and turned to leave.

"Hey? Jin, where are you going? You haven't eaten yet." Qin Yeyang shouted in confusion.

Lan Ziyi patted Qin Yeyang's hand and pulled him along to follow, "Jin is going to change clothes."

Wearing an outfit like that, even if one didn't have mysophobia, one couldn't stand it.

Today's Jin seems a bit different from before.

Qin Yeyang was suddenly enlightened by Lan Ziyi's reminder.

"Ziyi, don't you think the person who just bumped into Jin looks a bit familiar?"

He was usually very impatient with such matters, but this time, he had been uncharacteristically Quiet until the end.

It was because he felt like he had seen him somewhere before, but he just couldn't recall it for the moment.

Lan Ziyi thought for a moment and shook his head; he had no impression of that kid and likely hadn't met him.

As they left, the cafeteria returned to its noisy state, even more so than before.

Wen Ran, who was hiding in the crowd holding a food tray and also intending to "bump into" them, had pale, tense fingers.
