Chapter 2 - Episode 2 — A House That Never Felt Like Home

The car stopped.

Anaya slowly opened her eyes.

The rain had stopped… but her fear hadn't.

In front of her stood a huge mansion.

Big.

Silent.

Cold.

Like the man who brought her here.

"Get down."

Kabir's voice broke the silence.

Anaya hesitated.

"What if he's lying…?"

"What if this is a mistake…?"

But she had no choice.

She stepped out.

Inside…

Everything was perfect.

Expensive furniture. Clean floors. Huge chandeliers.

But something was missing.

Warmth.

This place didn't feel like a home.

It felt like a cage.

Kabir walked ahead without looking back.

"Your room is upstairs. Second door."

Anaya frowned.

"That's it?"

Kabir stopped.

Turned slowly.

"What else do you expect? A welcome party?"

His cold eyes made her heart skip.

Still… she gathered courage.

"Why did you help me?"

Silence.

For a second… his expression changed.

But only for a second.

"I didn't help you," he said flatly.

"You were just standing there like a problem."

Her chest tightened.

"I'm not a problem."

Kabir walked closer.

Too close.

"Then don't act like one."

Anaya clenched her fists.

"I still think you're a bad person."

Kabir's jaw tightened.

For a moment, it felt like he might get angry.

But instead…

He said softly—

"Good."

She froze.

"What?"

"Because good people don't survive in my world."

His words felt heavy.

Dangerous.

Real.

That night…

Anaya sat on the bed in her new room.

Soft.

Comfortable.

But her heart felt restless.

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Why am I here…?"

"Why does he feel so… lonely?"

Meanwhile…

Kabir stood on the balcony.

Looking at the dark sky.

His mind wasn't calm.

For the first time in years…

Someone's words stayed in his head.

"You're a bad person."

He clenched his fists.

"Then why… didn't she run away?"

Downstairs…

A servant approached carefully.

"Sir, should we send her away tomorrow?"

Kabir stayed silent.

Then said—

"No."

"Take care of her."

Even he didn't understand why he said that.

Back in her room…

Anaya hugged herself tightly.

"I hate him…" she whispered.

But deep inside…

A strange feeling started growing.

Not trust.

Not yet.

But something close.

And far away…

Kabir looked at the same sky.

Unaware…

That the girl he brought home…

Was about to change his entire world.
