Chapter 24 - Episode 4: “Rumors Don’t Need Truth”

What starts as misunderstanding…

slowly becomes something far more dangerous.

A rumor.

And rumors don't need proof.

They only need repetition.

🌧️ Campus Morning – Something Is Different

Arjun entered campus as usual.

Quiet.

Invisible.

Controlled.

But today…

something felt off.

Students were whispering.

Looking.

Smirking.

Not openly.

But enough to feel it.

🖤 The First Hit

A boy from the corridor passed by and said casually:

"So she likes poor boys now?"

Another laughed:

"Or is it just a hobby?"

Arjun stopped walking.

Slowly turned.

But they had already left.

He didn't react.

But something inside him tightened.

🌸 Anaya – The Same Storm

Anaya entered campus.

Immediately—

silence changed shape.

Whispers followed her.

Eyes followed her.

Not respect.

Not admiration.

Something twisted.

She frowned.

"What is going on?"

Her assistant hesitated.

"…Nothing, ma'am."

That was enough to confirm everything.

🌧️ The Rumor Spreads

By noon, it had spread everywhere:

"Anaya Verma is secretly involved with scholarship student Arjun Mehta."

But it didn't stop there.

It changed shape.

Became worse.

"She's using him."

"He trapped her."

"It's a scandal."

Truth was no longer needed.

🖤 Arjun Confronts Reality

Arjun finally heard it clearly in the cafeteria.

A group laughing:

"Imagine being used by someone like her."

His grip tightened.

Slow breath.

Then he stood up.

But he didn't fight.

He didn't shout.

He just left.

Because he already knew:

Fighting rumors is harder than fighting people.

🌸 Anaya Breaks First

Anaya confronted one student directly.

"What rumor?"

The girl smiled nervously.

"You didn't hear? Everyone is talking…"

She stopped.

Didn't finish.

But it was enough.

Anaya's expression froze.

For the first time—

she looked genuinely shaken.

🌧️ The Source Appears (Rohan)

Rohan Malhotra sat calmly in the student council room.

Watching everything unfold.

Unbothered.

A friend asked:

"Did you start this?"

Rohan smiled slightly.

"I didn't start anything."

Pause.

Then softly:

"I just removed silence."

🖤 Emotional Collision – Library Scene

That evening.

Arjun and Anaya met again.

Not planned.

Not expected.

Just fate forcing proximity again.

Silence.

Heavy.

Anaya spoke first:

"Did you hear it?"

Arjun replied:

"Yes."

Pause.

Anaya stepped closer:

"You think it's true?"

Arjun looked at her.

Long.

Then:

"I don't know what to think anymore."

That line hurt her more than accusation.

🌸 Anaya's Breakdown Begins

Her voice cracked slightly:

"So you believe them more than me?"

Arjun replied:

"I don't believe anyone anymore."

Silence.

That was worse than hate.

🌧️ Emotional Explosion

Anaya's control finally broke.

"I never used you!"

Her voice echoed slightly.

Students nearby turned.

Watching.

Arjun lowered his voice:

"Then why does everything look like it?"

Anaya froze.

Because she didn't have an answer that could survive public eyes.

🖤 Humiliation Begins

More students gathered.

Phones out.

Whispers louder.

Recording.

Judging.

Anaya realized it too late.

This was no longer private.

Arjun stepped back slightly.

"I shouldn't be part of this."

Anaya whispered:

"Don't walk away again…"

But he already did.

🌸 Final Scene – Breaking Point

Anaya stood in the middle of the corridor.

Surrounded.

Watched.

Misjudged.

Her hands shook slightly.

Not from fear.

From helplessness.

And she whispered:

"I lost him… without even losing him."

Far away, Arjun stopped walking for a second.

Closed his eyes.

But didn't turn back.

Because both of them now believed the same lie:

"Maybe we were never meant to be understood."
