The morning air at Seoul High School carried its usual chill, but inside Class 11B, tension hung thick. Thirty-five students—eighteen boys and seventeen girls—walked slowly toward their seats. In the far back, Kem sat alone, detached from the chatter and laughter around him.

Kem never joined casual jokes or conversations. He remained silent, observant, always absorbing, analyzing. His face bore faint bruises and subtle marks from past harassment. His hands and back carried smaller scratches from previous encounters—silent reminders of the relentless bullying he endured.

Joon and Hyuk, notorious tormentors, approached him immediately.

"Hey, Kem! Dropped your bag again?" Joon sneered.

"Yeah, the whole class is watching you fumble, huh?" Hyuk added.

Kem said nothing. Lifting his books silently, he knew any reaction would only fuel their amusement. His silence was his shield, a survival strategy.

Leen, the wealthy and influential girl, watched from across the room, planning her own subtle disturbance. She walked up to Kem, calm but intentionally sharp,

"Kem, your pen fell. Pick it up."

Without expression, Kem picked up the pen and placed it in his notebook. Tension subtly thickened in the classroom, perceptible to those watching.

The clock ticked steadily. Kem scanned every corner. He observed every glance, whisper, and smirk. He noted who posed a threat and who merely watched.

Class 11B reflected a microcosm of status and wealth. Poorer boys frequently became Joon and Hyuk's targets. Kem, though wealthy, never intimidated anyone. His quiet demeanor sometimes appeared weak, but inside, he was strategic, resilient, and ready.

By midday, the cafeteria buzzed. Students clustered in groups, sharing food and laughter. Kem stayed in a corner. Blending in would only draw attention. Around him, students whispered or laughed quietly, but none intervened.

Leen approached again.

"Why are you always alone, Kem? Don't you want to mix?"

He nodded slightly. "Sometimes, it's simpler to be alone."

Unsatisfied, she lightly brushed his shoulder. Kem's gaze met hers, unwavering. He gave nothing away.

The remainder of the day followed the same pattern. Kem observed every interaction—how Joon and Hyuk tormented weaker students, how others stayed silent. His silence and composure were his defense, his armor.

As the final bell rang, Class 11B emptied. Kem adjusted his bag and walked out, hands marked, swelling faintly visible on his face. No one knew the depth of his silent struggles.

Leen's voice followed softly,

"See you tomorrow, Kem. I'll bother you again."

He nodded, "Alright." No emotion showed, but inside, he was already planning how to endure and survive future challenges.

The first day of Class 11B was over. This was only the beginning. Kem understood that the coming days would be far more difficult. Each day would test him, demand that he prove himself again and again. Silent, observant, determined—he was ready.

Deep inside, he sensed the start of something larger, more dangerous. Greater threats, unpredictable twists, and survival trials awaited.
