Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

In a Raccoon City cafe, a young blond man in an expensive suit was sitting, drinking tea. He had the blond hair of a Westerner but the composed demeanor of an Easterner. Across from him sat a stylish beauty with short hair, a pretty face, resolute expression, and an air of heroism.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Jill. I am Eddie Cai, and I am your blind date today." Eddie smiled and extended his hand for a shake.

Jill frowned. "Hello, I'm Jill, Jill Valentine, and I'm currently a member of the Special Tactical Force. Your name is really strange. Are you an Easterner? I heard you have a villa in the Arklay Mountains?"

"Strictly speaking, yes, I am an Easterner. My name was given by my parents and cannot be changed at will. Money and villas are merely external possessions. My greatest asset is my talent. I am the heir to Umbrella's board, rich and talented!" Eddie hummed proudly, coming clean to Jill right from the start!

"If possible, I'd like to visit your villa," Jill said with a smile. She was actually there to investigate the recent monster attacks on humans in the Arklay Mountains.

"Things are moving that fast?" Eddie blinked. This didn't seem like the resolute Jill.

"Yes, don't you want to?" Jill suddenly smiled alluringly. This man seemed easy to deal with.

"Alright, we've exchanged numbers. We'll get in touch later. You'd best be careful. I heard there have been some attacks in the mountains recently. Really, when did such things start happening? It's quite worrying. But don't be afraid, my villa is very safe." Eddie laughed heartily.

His hearty laughter made Jill feel a pang of shame. It seemed unethical to use him to complete her investigation. He was a good man!

Just as Jill was about to leave, Eddie pulled out a modified handgun. "Wait, Jill, it's our first meeting, and I don't know what you like. This handgun is one I modified; it has immense power and low recoil. I think you, as a member of a Tactical Force, will like it."

Jill took the handgun, looking at Eddie with a puzzled expression. As a firearm enthusiast, she naturally knew that such a weapon was difficult to modify, and it couldn't be done without a certain level of skill. The man in front of her was not an ignorant person! Perhaps, as he said, he was a genius, just an unrecognized one.

"Thank you, I really like your gift. Wait, this is for you." Jill suddenly took off a necklace from her neck.

Eddie took the necklace and smiled, "Is this a token of love?"

"No, just a memento. I'll wait for your call?" Jill turned and left, waving the card and handgun in her hand.

Watching Jill leave, Eddie didn't avert his gaze until her figure disappeared. Back in his RV, a blond woman in a pristine white suit was already waiting. With blond hair and blue eyes, she was a typical Western beauty, her aloof demeanor much like a queen.

Alex Wesker! One of the Wesker Project, thirteen people, only she and Albert survived. Both were genius-level individuals with exceptional intelligence.

"Eddie, why did you suddenly think of a blind date?" Alex looked down at the data on her tablet.

"Because I have nothing to do. I'm currently being monitored by Spencer constantly. All I do is play. If I have any ambitions, that old man will eliminate me. What else can I do?" Eddie said with a bitter smile.

Eddie had already come clean to Alex from the start. Alex naturally wouldn't believe that she was just artificially cultivated. After investigation, she also learned about Spencer's so-called 'New Human Project' and was extremely angry about being deceived. She then naturally cooperated with Eddie and did not report his intelligence to Spencer.

"Then what about what you promised me?" Alex asked. She had a certain defect in her body; the Progenitor Virus only kept her alive and couldn't give her superhuman strength. Now, she even showed signs of illness.

She was indeed a beauty, just a bit ill.

"I've been researching. Neither the T-Serum nor other variants are suitable for you. I'm waiting for an opportunity, the emergence of a brand new serum. Then I can combine the advantages of both and enhance you." Eddie smiled.

"You're talking about the G-Virus, aren't you?" Alex turned her head, her eyeshadow-adorned beautiful eyes blinking, exuding the aura of a sophisticated older sister.

"Exactly, the G-Virus. We still need a little more time. Don't you trust me?" Eddie suddenly leaned his head closer, gazing at her.

Alex turned her head away, "Of course I trust you. I have no one else to trust but you. You'd better not lie to me."

"Of course not. We can only trust each other. You will definitely get better, trust me!" Eddie said.

Back in the villa in the Arklay Mountains, it was an ancient medieval style. This was left to him by Dr. Marcus of Umbrella. As Marcus's distant relative, Eddie naturally inherited his legacy.

Sitting on the sofa, lighting a cigarette, and looking at the data report in front of him. There were no other people in the villa, only Eddie, Alex, and the butler Stewart.

Without a system, it was a bit difficult to gain a foothold in Resident Evil. Eddie was also a bit flustered, but fortunately, he was smart and had a flexible mind, knowing to befriend other main characters to protect himself. If he could develop a suitable serum and inject himself, gaining superhuman abilities wouldn't be impossible.

Alex's phone suddenly rang. After answering the call, she kept nodding, her brows tightly furrowed, as if she had encountered something unpleasant.

After hanging up the phone, Alex said, "Eddie, Spencer just called and asked me to go to Tortuga Island to research another project."

"Are you going now?" Eddie asked.

"No, it's still in the preparatory stage. Currently, the focus is still on the Raccoon City experiment!" Alex said.

"It's about the immortality experiment, isn't it? It seems Spencer already knows he doesn't have long to live." Eddie sneered.

"You really know everything, yet you pretend to be an unsupportive rich second generation." Alex showed a hint of a smile. This man was indeed very shrewd. After Marcus's death, he always pretended to be foolish, using Spencer's feigned concern to act like a carefree rich second generation, a disguise so convincing that even Spencer didn't see through it, thus avoiding death.

"So I came clean with you, isn't this the best outcome? And it's getting late, shouldn't we rest?" Eddie smiled, looking at the older sister-type beauty in front of him. He was only in his twenties, while she was already in her thirties and still an unmarried older sister!

Alex rolled her eyes at the man, then walked away first in her high heels, not refusing.

In the villa's underground laboratory, Eddie was at the test bench, researching the T-Serum, holding a bottle of extremely precious reagent. The light blue liquid remained still in the test tube, emanating a power that made one's heart tremble—a power that could destroy any living thing!

Alex sat on a high stool, quietly observing Eddie's every move. This man made her curious. How did he know about Spencer's conspiracy, and what was he secretly planning? Everything was like a fog, making her curious and wanting to explore this enigmatic man.

In front of the display screen, Eddie was observing his genetic data. These devices were only acquired after coming clean with Alex. Previously, due to pretending to be foolish for Spencer, he had few opportunities to conduct experiments.

Without a so-called system, to survive in this crisis-ridden Resident Evil world, one must rely on oneself. Either have super luck like Leon S. Kennedy, or be as capable in combat as Chris. Otherwise, one must use science to strengthen oneself, for only science can defeat science!

"What are you researching?" Alex walked over, bringing a waft of fragrance.

Although it wasn't the first time, Eddie still felt his heart race. Alex had a strong aura, with a captivating charm of a powerful woman.

"My own genetic fragments. I'm currently simulating a compatible T-Serum to strengthen myself. Currently, the most compatible person at Umbrella is Colonel Sergei, but the T-Serum's effect is only limited to that; it's not enough to achieve immortality!" Eddie said calmly.

"You really know a lot. How is your research coming along?" Alex asked curiously, her beautiful eyes shifting, wondering what she was thinking.

"Still under research. Perhaps I need someone's help!" Eddie turned his head, not expecting her to be so close.

"Who?" Alex was very curious and also a little puzzled as to why he wasn't asking her for help.

"William Birkin!" Eddie said with a firm tone.

"Him? You know he is currently the developer of the G-Virus, and his relationship with Spencer is very tense. He has no intention of handing over his research results. You know what the consequences will be once he refuses to hand over the experimental data!" Alex chuckled. No one knew Spencer better than her. That old man always said he was her child, which was truly disgusting.

"I know, so I'm going to have you tip him off. I want to meet with Spencer and tell him a few things in exchange for his support and help." Eddie said confidently.

These words greatly surprised Alex. To actually take the initiative to find Spencer. She then frowned and said, "Are you crazy? You're going to find that old fox. Do you think you can outwit him?"

Eddie, however, said with a half-smile, "Are you concerned about me? Worried about what? Worried that your man will be in trouble?"

Alex, however, turned her head away somewhat tsundere-like and said, "I'm not. Don't overthink it. I'm just worried that my partner will be in trouble. You haven't fulfilled what you promised me yet."

Eddie laughed heartily, "Haha, I definitely won't be in trouble, don't worry. As the saying goes, 'nothing ventured, nothing gained.' That old fox Spencer, don't think he's hard to deal with just because he hasn't been hit where it hurts."

Alex's delicate brows raised, and her elegant fingers, painted with dark nail polish, swiped across the tablet. "You seem to know Spencer very well. What kind of person are you, really? I'm genuinely curious."
