Chapter 1 - Desert Dragon

[ "Take a look at that varmint… damn thing's downright disgustin'." ]

[ "I gotta put it down." ]

Reckon that dragon was comin' in fast, head-on at Hardy, its jaws hangin' open… like it had a hunger for him.

Instead o' drawin' his revolver, Hardy went in bare-handed. When that dragon got real close… it bit clean through the left side of him.

[ "Death don't take me." ]

Outta nowhere, the left side o' Hardy—what that dragon just ate—started growin' back, fast as hell.

That dragon turned 'round and came at Hardy again, jaws open wide… but this time, it weren't lookin' to bite—it was fixin' to spit fire.

Then fire came burstin' out, hot and wild, straight at Hardy.

Sshh-whoosh!

The fire hit him… left nothin' but raw red flesh. But damn it—he healed right back up, quick as ever.

[ "Ain't that easy, ya little punk." ]

Hardy took off runnin' fast, and when he got close to that dragon, he leapt high and hard—ground crackin' where he pushed off.

THWACK!

He drove his fist straight into that dragon's head—hit so damn hard it slammed down to the ground.

[ "Heh… that's what you get, kid." ]

He was descendin' fast, landin' stance set, revolver ready—but still holstered. Still fallin', not there yet.

That dragon lifted its head… and saw Hardy droppin' down, fixin' to land right on top of it.

When he got close enough to that dragon's head, Hardy drew his revolver and fired.

Cracksss...hiss

SPLAT!

The bullet went straight into that dragon's head—blood burstin' out like a spill—and Hardy landed right on top of it.

That healin' of his is done.

He jumped down off that dragon's head.

[ "This brat's real easy to put down." ]

Hardy walked on over to his horse, the one he called Joe.

He mounted Joe, and they rode off into the open horizon.

That sun hung high, burnin' fierce… like it was tryin' to set him ablaze.

THUMP-A-THUMP

Joe kept on runnin'… and runnin'.

Up ahead stood a wooden sign that read: 'Welcome to Arejoana.

[ "Hm… interestin'. Wonder what kinda surprise's waitin' for me." ]

[ "Reckon I'll find me a face to smash out there." ]
