Chapter 14 - You’re Too Weak!

In her previous life, Xia Wanrou had never been so proactive.

Perhaps influenced by the Pangu bloodline in this life, Xia Wanrou was unusually forward with Chen Jie.

Chen Jie looked at Xia Wanrou's graceful figure.

He surged forward, embracing her, lifting the blanket.

What followed was a series of indescribable events.

The next morning.

Rumble rumble rumble!

The once quiet morning was shattered by the harsh sounds of tanks moving.

Bang!

A shell struck the hotel's main door, shaking the entire building.

"An earthquake?"

"What's happening? Could it be another monster attack?"

"There are several tanks outside! Quick, wake the boss!"

The students outside the corridor were awakened, cowering in panic just outside Chen Jie's door.

Last night's intense battle had left them mostly sleepless.

Now, with this abnormal situation, none dared to wake Chen Jie recklessly.

But Chen Jie had already sensed the situation outside.

He drew the curtains and looked.

A whole squad of tanks had arrived—clearly coming for him.

However, these modern weapons posed almost no threat to him, an awakener.

The key factor was the several super-combat awakeners standing on the tanks.

He hadn't expected humanity to unite so quickly.

Perhaps only the Long Nation could rally like this.

Long Nation people were always relatively united.

Unfortunately for them, they had chosen the wrong target.

"Xiao Jie, what's happening outside?"

Xia Wanrou's legs trembled slightly as she walked over to Chen Jie, asking gently.

"Nothing. Stay here. I'll handle it."

Chen Jie patted Xia Wanrou's head.

She had worked hard last night. Today, she didn't need to fight.

Chen Jie reached out, and the window glass instantly shattered.

A yellow light shot out, and he appeared in midair before several tanks.

The tanks, spotting Chen Jie, quickly turned their turrets toward him.

"You're here for me?"

Chen Jie stood in the air, wind whipping his clothes, like a true king, looking down at those below with disdain.

One middle tank had a silver-haired, middle-aged man in black armor stand up.

His eyes glowed teal, hands behind his back, staring at Chen Jie in the air.

"So, you're Chen Jie?"

The middle-aged man's voice carried killing intent.

Clearly, he meant harm.

Chen Jie didn't care.

"Yes. True to my name, I am!"

Chen Jie's voice rang loud and clear, echoing across the sky.

"Good, good! Bold of you, admitting it in front of all of us!"

Hearing Chen Jie's response, the man's expression turned grim.

He was an awakener from the family of the tall-hat man in Huang Yan's company.

Upon receiving the tall-hat man's message, he had gathered tanks stolen from the military and rushed over overnight.

"Who are you?"

Chen Jie asked.

"Me? I'm Lin Yao, an awakener of the Lin Group! You killed Huang Yan's son Huang Tian. Today, I've come for your life!"

Lin Yao clenched his fists, and a layer of teal armor covered his body.

This was his awakened talent—the Azure Dragon Armor!

He had awakened at the start of the apocalypse.

With his family's help, he had reached peak second-stage strength in a single day.

Combined with the uniqueness of his awakening, his current combat power rivaled that of an early third-stage awakener.

"That idiot Huang Tian? Yeah, I killed him!"

Chen Jie looked Lin Yao in the eyes, speaking bluntly.

Regardless of whether Lin Yao had come at Huang Yan's order or Huang Yan himself appeared, he didn't shy away.

In his past life, he had endured too much silently!

"Good! Then you can die, so I can report back!"

Lin Yao grinned, clenched his fists, and transformed into a streak of teal light, charging at Chen Jie at incredible speed.

Chen Jie remained calm, waiting for Lin Yao to reach him.

Seeing Chen Jie so composed, Lin Yao was slightly shocked.

Facing such a top-tier awakener, he remained unshaken.

Lin Yao's instincts told him this young man was not ordinary.

Yet, relying on his awakened strength, Lin Yao was confident he could kill Chen Jie within a minute.

In mere seconds, Lin Yao leaped from the tank and was before Chen Jie.

He gathered his strength and threw a punch directly at Chen Jie's abdomen.

Chen Jie did not summon his Mimic Weapon.

He simply reached out and grabbed Lin Yao's fist.

He wanted to compare his own talent, pure physicality, against a super-combat awakener.

Boom!

Their hands clashed.

The force shook the surrounding space.

Lin Yao's punch was held firmly in Chen Jie's palm.

He stared at Chen Jie, eyes full of shock and disbelief.

He was a peak second-stage super-combat awakener…

And a fully powered punch was caught so effortlessly?

Impossible!

Lin Yao gritted his teeth, struggling with all his might—but for half a minute, he couldn't budge an inch.

"Huh? You're a super-combat awakener? That's all you've got?"

Chen Jie's faint smile held a hint of mockery as he looked at the flustered Lin Yao.

As expected, his Pangu constitution was terrifying.

Merely relying on his body's strength, he could completely crush ordinary super-combat awakeners.

"You…"

Lin Yao was nearly speechless with fury.

Below, his subordinates watched.

Being restrained like this—where was his face?

In a fit of anger, Lin Yao extended his left hand and was forced to summon his super-combat weapon.

Previously, against deformed monsters, he had rarely needed his weapon.

His immense body strength alone was enough to kill them.

Chen Jie was the first to force him to actively use a weapon!

Like the super-combat awakeners from last night, Lin Yao's weapon was a light sword.

But his sword was far stronger than that awakeners' last night.

A small teal dragon coiled along the blade, radiating the aura of a dragon's roar.

Shhh!

Lin Yao swung horizontally at Chen Jie's neck, the blade's sharpness terrifying.

Chen Jie, facing the fierce attack, merely twisted lightly.

With incredible speed, he dodged the strike.

Yet, as he dodged, the force in his hand intensified.

He twisted Lin Yao's right hand.

Immediately, Lin Yao's right hand was bent over ninety degrees.

Pain contorted Lin Yao's facial muscles.

"Ahhh!"

Lin Yao screamed in agony, a sound more gruesome than a village pig slaughter.

Feeling his eardrums hurt, Chen Jie finally released his grip.

"You… are too weak."

Chen Jie shook his head lightly.
