Akira's POV - The Guild
My feet scraped the floors as I dragged my lethargic body along the tall ass building.
One word, massive.
I remembered the feeling I had heard when I read it for the first time. The pristine white walls, the mystical beasts. . .
[Side Mission: Bond with a B Rank Beast. Award: A Rank dagger upgrade. Additional reward: Instinctual ability to distinguish ranks]
What the actual heck? How was I supposed to do that?

Such a sassy thing huh? I looked around as I tried to determine the ranks of the beast around here. Not knowing how to differentiate them, I decided to register with the guild first.
If I remembered correctly, every member of the guild had a wand that helped determine ranks. I guess it was to my advantage that I knew a few things about this world before I transmigrated here.
[Note: There are butterfly effects bound to take place]
Butterfly what now?
The self esteemed system refused to say anything and I kept mum as I matched to the office.
"How may we help you?" A female voice asked sharply as soon I walked into the office there.
"I want to sign up with the guild"
"Looking like that?" Her eyes that were framed by the squared glasses that seemed to be hit with a tiny light critically examined me. Was this what pressure felt like.
"Do you have any personalized weapon?"
I tried to look for an answer as I felt something materialize on my belt hook, slightly hidden in the big jacket covering my tiny frame.
"Yeah. This" I brought out the dagger as I tried to hide in my shocked expression. I knew the system gave me a dagger before but I didn't know how to access them.
The lady grabbed the dagger and calmly twirled it between her fingers.
"Given by the status of this, I will assume you are an A rank. Am I right?"
Here goes nothing.
"I'm an F rank. The dagger is eee. . ." I forced myself to think of something.
"It was a gift. From my late father"
I didn't know what happen to the father in this world so I assumed it was a white lie. The lady still examined my status as she calmly stood up.
"Follow me"
Her orders were precise and quick as she shoved me and walked out. Unable to counter her words, I quietly followed her. And I was marveled by what I saw.
Different beasts of different sizes with powers so unique. My awe was interrupted when I bumped into her sturdy back. She was so strong.
"Bond with it"
"Ma'am"
"Bond" Her chilling looks sent a tingle down my spine as I gulped. Only one action was in my head, run. Flee from here and never turn back.
But I remembered my previous life. My vow, my mothers in both worlds. The smile on her face as I walked out of the house this morning.
I hardened my heart and finally looked at the massive dragon in front of me.

I can upgrade my rank!!! Why didn't I know of this before?!
Intrigued by the power and rank upgrade, I walked towards the dragon in front of me as I stretched my hand towards it.
"What are you doing?" The lady, whom I was yet to know her name asked as I laughed awkwardly.
"I wanted to know if it will submit"
She gazed at me as if I had gained two heads or maybe I had horns as I gulped.
"Go on then"
She walked out of the room leaving just me and the dragon. I withdrew my outstretched hand as I looked at the dragon who returned my gaze with a look of non challance.
"Look. I need your help right now. I have never bonded with any beast much more a Celestial dragon. So can you help me please?"
The dragon stared at me once more as it slowly stood, turned it's back to me and slumbered.
It fell asleep. This beast literally fell asleep while I was talking to it. Maybe it didn't understand me.
[Celestial beasts understand the human tongue. Don't be so pathetic]
I didn't know what to focus on. The snarky system hovering around me. Or the beast who just happened to fall asleep.
I walked to the front of the magestic beast as I curiously touched one of the scales to which he rewarded with a growl.
[This is a female dragon. She's must definitely not a He]
A She!!!
I couldn't count how many shocks I had had this few days of being in Dune.
"So apparently you can understand me. Which is still super weird though. But I really need your help. I promise to never treat you like a beast but rather like a new ally. I just need your help to change my fate"
It seemed the dragon understood my words as it turned it's eyes to me. Her onyx eyes boring into me as if staring at the deepest part of my soul.
I looked straight at her. Wondering why I was yet to flee under the intense gaze. This was a dragon. Any little thing would mean being totally blazed. But then again. . .
She looked at me once more and slowly stood. And once again, I was marveled at her glory. Her white body seemed ethereal as the gold scales glittered.
She didn't just look majestic. She was majestic.
With one leg bent, she lowered her head down while nudging my palm.
I slowly raised my hand as I placed it over head. I had no inclination of what I was doing. I was basically following my instincts. And I prayed to whatever gods ruled this planet that my plans were working.
She slowly closed her eyes and let out a whine as if bidding me to do same. I didn't know how I was able to interpret her sounds.
Ic loses my eyes and felt a surge of blue energy slowly mix with a purple one that seemed to come from her. The powers mixed as the surge gree more powerful with each passing minute.
And when I thought I was done, the power exploded. Shooting me across the room as I slammed on the walls.
"Fuck" I groaned as I picked myself up and staggered to where she lay down quietly.
"Did it work?"
I asked myself as I watched her. A few seconds passed and her eyes slowly opened. But instead of staring at the shiny onyx eyes I had seen eventually, I was staring back at deep blue eyes, likely to the blue surge I had released in my mind.

I let out a peel of laughter as I gazed at her. I didn't know if it was me, but she seemed a lot more docile now.
"Thank you. Very much"
"You're welcome" She replied and I slumped once more.
What the heck!
"You can talk?!!!"
"Well we are bonded now. It's only right if you can understand me"
That was understandable. Though I didn't read this part in the book. Maybe it was the butterfly effect the system was talking about.
"Your name is Gleam. And from now on, it's both of us against the world"
