"2000 Emotion Points? That means that unlucky guy Titan provided 1700 points last night," Jiang He said with a satisfied smile.
After exchanging for the Stealth Bird deck the previous day, he had only 300 points left. Now, he was back up to 2000. It was clear that even while unconscious, Titan had been a steady source of points.
Typically, according to Jiang He's experience, a duelist like Titanwho had little fame and few appearances in the original storyshouldn't have provided more points than someone like Jaden or Syrus. However, the nature of it being a Shadow Game seemed to have boosted the gains.
This was a pleasant surprise for Jiang He. His only regret was that the Shadow Game had been a bit too easy. The duel ended without his Life Points even dropping, meaning he didn't get to test the defensive effects of his Dragon Head mark.
He shook his head helplessly. He would have to wait for the next opportunity.
Intrigued, he continued to browse the system mall, which had just refreshed its stock.

Jiang He's mouth curled into a grin. He was thoroughly satisfied!
This skill was a massive upgrade. While the basic "Clear Mind" granted a once-per-duel Miracle Draw from the deck, this "Top-tier" version was essentially an "owned card" summoner. It allowed him to pull a card that wasn't even in his current deck list, provided he owned the card in his collection.
Jiang He was overjoyed. This was basically a license to print cards mid-duel. While it was limited to cards he already owned, it was still an incredibly broken ability. With this, he was ready to call himself the "Kaiba of Cheating!"
Without hesitation, he spent his 2000 Emotion Points to exchange for the skill. As for the points needed for new troll decks, he could easily earn those back in the Tag Duel tomorrow.
He wasn't worried in the slightest. The Stealth Bird Toxic Burn Strategy he had picked up yesterday hadn't even reached its full potential yet. A Tag Duel was the perfect environment for a burn deck to shine. He was certain he could provide those "legendary tag duelists" the Chancellor mentioned with a very "warm and healing" experience.
However, the purchase of the skill didn't trigger any grand physical sensation. Perhaps the sun was just too warm today.
"You certainly know how to enjoy yourself."
Just as Jiang He was lying there with his hands behind his head, planning how to "warmly" greet his opponents tomorrow, a familiar light laugh drifted over from nearby.
At the same time, he heard light footsteps. Jiang He looked up and saw Alexis Rhodes, dressed in her signature blue and white uniform and blue leather skirt. She stood over him, one hand on her hip, smiling.
"It's rare to see you without your two shadows during the day, Alexis," Jiang He said, sitting up slightly. He had expected Mindy and Jasmine to be glued to her side.
"Uh... Mindy and Jasmine were called away by Fonda Fontaine to help out in the infirmary. And they aren't 'shadows,' they're friends," Alexis explained with a mock sternness, trying to hide her slight embarrassment. "Besides, we're here to discuss Tag Duel tactics. It wouldn't be appropriate for them to be hanging around anyway."
As she spoke, she sat down near him, her aura sharpening.
"Nurse Fontaine...?" Jiang He recalled the name. It was the school nurse who taught health classthe one with the very white coat and... very large hair. She was also the head of the Obelisk Blue girls' dorm.
"I don't know what you're thinking, but you'd better not be thinking anything rude!" Alexis's voice rang out. For some reason she couldn't quite place, she felt a tiny spark of annoyance.
"Uh... I was just thinking about something pleasant," Jiang He coughed, his face flushing slightly as he quickly changed the subject. "Speaking of which, about your brother... I might have found some information."
"You found news about my brother?!" Alexis stood up, her excitement immediate as she stared at him.
Jiang He's diversion had been a complete success. In truth, Alexis's reason for meeting him todayaside from some inexplicable personal motivationwas to ask him about Shadow Games and her missing brother. After the incident with Titan at the abandoned dorm yesterday, she had realized that Jiang He knew far more about these legends than most.
