The sun is a mistake. Seriously.
I groaned, trying to raise my hand to block the harsh light stabbing into my retinas. My hands trembled in the air like I had a severe case of Parkinson's. My entire body felt like it had been hollowed out and refilled with wet cement.
Then, a cool shadow washed over my face and I finally managed to force my heavy eyelids open.
Nakime was leaning over me.
She was still in her Demon Queen form, her pale skin contrasting sharply with the dark crimson of her kimono.
And her two beautiful eyes, full of soft pink, were staring down at me.
She was cradling my head in her lap. Her hands ran gently through my hair, but the slight tremor in her fingers gave away just how panicked she was.
"Master," Nakime whispered, her voice incredibly tight.
I forced a weak grin. "Hey… Nice eyes."
I tried to sit up and instantly regretted it.
A wave of nausea hit me like a blow from Conquest.
My head spun, and my energy core felt like a dried-up sponge left in the desert.
I looked past Nakime's shoulder, and whatever was left of my good mood evaporated.
The Earth was dying.
The lush, green landscape of South Dakota? Gone! It was replaced by geysers of superheated lava violently erupting from massive tectonic cracks in the dirt.
The ground beneath us was vibrating with a constant, sickening tremor of an earthquake.
And up in the sky was even worse. The shattered remains of the moon from the Entity's temper tantrum were caught in Earth's gravity well.
Now, the moon itself was currently raining down in a terrifying, unending meteor shower.
Just a classic, desolate and burning apocalypse.
I gritted my teeth and forced myself to my feet.
My knees instantly buckled.
Nakime caught me before I could eat dirt. Her arm wrapped firmly around my waist, holding my dead weight with ease.
I blinked away the dizziness and finally realized we weren't alone.
Standing a few feet away were Mark and Allen. Both of them were covered in soot, blood, and alien guts. Looking at me with a mixture of deep concern and terrifying shock.
Right next to them were Supermom and Pepsiman.
"Take it easy, John," Supermom said. She popped the tab on a fresh can of Cola and made me take a casual swig. "You were knocking right on death's door."
"Master, you depleted your mana reserves entirely," Nakime explained softly. "Your heart actually stopped for seven seconds."
I blinked. "It did?"
"You are only conscious right now because Sir Pepsi and Supermom spent the last hour pouring their super soda down your throat," Nakime said as her grip on my waist tightened.
I looked down at the ground.
There were easily three dozen crushed Pepsi and Coca-Cola cans and empty energy drinks scattered in the dirt around my boots.
'Well,' I thought, rubbing my chest. 'That explains why my mouth tastes like battery acid.'
I turned my head to look at the two corporate mascots. Pepsiman just gave me a shiny thumbs-up.
"Guys, I don't know how to—"
DING!
My vision suddenly vanished in a sea of blinding blue light.
Rows upon rows of Gacha notifications exploded across my retina. They scrolled so fast I could barely read them. The Chaos Gacha system was finally tallying up the raid boss, and it was going insane.
[Feat Achieved! Evacuate entire population of Earth through Infinity Castle during a planetary invasion]
[Reward: +1x Legendary Gacha Ticket]
[Feat Achieved! Launch an Immortal Shadow Army of Invincibles variants against the Viltrumites]

I stared at the glowing blue text.
'Mythical just for raising the murder-cat?' I mused. 'The Gacha really values relevance to the original plot, huh?'
The notifications kept rolling.
[Feat Achieved! Feed nearly a trillion Viltrumite corpses to Meruem]
[Reward: +1x Diamond Gacha Ticket]
[Feat Achieved! Have Meruem defeat Thragg, the Grand Regent of Viltrum]

I smiled at that one.
The Green Spider Lily had done its job as intended. Nakime was no longer bound by the sun or Muzan's old curses. She was finally free.

And on. And on. And on.
Dozens of bronze, silver, and gold tickets flooded into my vision. The system was basically emptying its entire vault into my pockets as a reward for spreading absolute chaos to any semblance of the original canon.
Normally this is the part where I celebrate.
'I know I said I had gotten freed from the clutches of my gambling addiction, but if I'm being honest… I did enjoy the rewards.'
My usual habit was rolling the lowest tier tickets first. I like to start with the bronzes, build up the anticipation and savor the dopamine hit of every single pull, watching the holographic wheels spin, before finally cracking open the heavy hitters.
But I couldn't do that today.
I swiped the blue screens away to stare back at the flaming horizon.
A chunk of lunar rock the size of a mart slammed into the distant plains. It vaporized a lake and sent a shockwave of blistering heat washing over my face.
'No, this can't wait anymore.'
Mother Earth was dying. The tectonic plates below us were zigzagging around, and the atmosphere was choking on smoke and dust.
I didn't waste any time and scrolled straight to the bottom of my reward list.
I grabbed the two Divine tickets.
The highest tier of rewards possible. The absolute Peak of Chaos.
I selected the first one and mentally tore it.
