I stood at the end of the aisle, my insides churning. A small part of me... no, a part of me larger than I cared to admit was terrified that Wren may decide that the wedding was not for her. That after my earlier flawed decisions she would choose to walk away. She had her mother now. She could decide she did not need me...
But, as I heard a rumble of voices, it drew my attention to the end of the aisle, and there she was. My moonlit figure in white, once more. A vision of beauty in the elegant gown chosen for her. And, quite honestly, I felt like my breath had been snatched form my lungs the moment my eyes fell to her.
I could see her eyes desperately searching across the crowd, no doubt for her mother, but they finally landed upon me, and she appeared to falter. A look was within those eyes that made my heart feel like it was going to beat right on out of my chest to rush down the aisle on its own to be reunited with hers.
