Everyone was still trying to figure out the strange, pleasant smell lingering in the room.
Yuji sniffed the air again.
"It's driving me crazy. I know I've smelled something like this before."
Nobara nodded.
"Same. It's floral, but there's something citrusy about it too."
One of the Shoko's looked toward Takeru.
"Are you sure it's just your shampoo?"
Takeru nodded.
He ran his fingers through his damp hair.
"Yeah."
Everyone looked at him.
Takeru seemed to suddenly realize they were all waiting for an answer.
He shrugged.
"It's lavender, sakura leaves, and tangerine orange."
Silence.
Yuji blinked.
"…That's what I'm smelling?"
"Yep."
Nobara sniffed the air again.
"Wait…"
She looked at Takeru.
"I can actually pick those out now."
One of the Shoko's nodded.
"Lavender, definitely."
The other added,
"And the citrus."
Yuji smiled.
"The sakura is probably what I couldn't identify."
Takeru nodded.
"Probably."
Nobara looked him up and down.
"So your shampoo makes you smell like a flower tree and an orange?"
Takeru thought about it.
"…Pretty much."
Yuji laughed.
"That's actually a really good combination."
Takeru leaned back against the bed.
"I told you. Four-in-one."
Nobara shook her head.
"I'm still trying to understand why your shampoo smells this good."
Takeru shrugged.
"Maybe it's just built different."
Yuji laughed.
"Apparently."
Takeru smiled and settled back against the pillow.
The room once again filled with that strange but pleasant scent.
And now everyone finally knew what it was.
Lavender. Sakura leaves. Tangerine orange.
Though somehow…
there was still another faint note beneath it.
Something nobody could quite put a name to.
