Chapter 1 - Parents' Orphan Child

In a small village surrounded by fields and quiet rivers lived a family of five. The father, Rahim, and the mother, Salma, had three children—two daughters named Amina and Laila, and a son named Arif. From the outside, their family seemed happy and complete. But inside the house, something was very different.

Rahim and Salma loved their daughters very much. They bought them beautiful dresses, helped them with their studies, and always spoke kindly to them. Whenever Amina or Laila wanted something, their parents tried their best to give it to them. The girls were always praised and appreciated.

But Arif's life was not the same.

Even though he was their son, Arif often felt invisible in his own home. His parents rarely talked to him with affection. When he tried to share his feelings, they ignored him. If he made a small mistake, he was scolded harshly. While his sisters received gifts, Arif often received nothing.

Every morning, Arif woke up early and helped with household chores. He swept the yard, brought water from the well, and sometimes even cooked when his mother was busy. Yet no one thanked him.

At school, Arif was a quiet boy. His teachers noticed that he was hardworking and intelligent, but there was always a sadness in his eyes. While other children talked happily about their families, Arif remained silent.

One day, his teacher, Mr. Sen, asked him gently, "Arif, why do you always look so worried?"

Arif hesitated, but then he spoke softly, "Sir… sometimes I feel like I don't belong in my own family."

When the news reached his home, his parents were surprised. They had never expected Arif to achieve something so great.

For the first time, Rahim and Salma looked at their son with different eyes.

Before leaving for the city, Arif stood quietly in the doorway of his home. His mother hesitated and then said softly, "Take care of yourself."

It was not a big expression of love, but for Arif, it meant something.

In the city, Arif worked hard and eventually became a successful engineer. He built a good life for himself. Despite everything, he never held hatred in his heart.

Years later, when he returned to his village, people welcomed him with respect and admiration.

Rahim and Salma finally realized their mistake. They understood that while they had always loved their daughters openly, they had failed to give their son the care he needed.

Looking at Arif with pride and regret, Rahim said, "We should have believed in you from the beginning."

Arif smiled gently. "It's okay, father. Sometimes people learn their lessons late."

The unseen son had grown into a strong and successful man. And although his childhood lacked affection, his determination and kindness shaped a brighter future—not only for himself but also for the family that once failed to see his worth.
