JAY'S POV
Eighteen years.
They say time flies when you're happy, but for me, these eighteen years have been a whirlwind of passion, laughter, and a very specific kind of chaos that only a Watson household can produce.
Our life had become a beautiful blend of London's sophistication and Manila's warmth, but the center of our universe was undoubtedly our children.
Marco Kyle Mariano Watson and Michelle Kylie Mariano Watson.
The twins.
Born ten minutes apart, they were the perfect, terrifying fusion of Keifer and me.
They had Keifer's sharp, aristocratic features and that innate, commanding presence that made people straighten their backs when they entered a room.
But they had my eyes—and my temper. They were ruthless when provoked, sweet when they wanted something, cold-faced to strangers, and absolute menaces to anyone who dared cross them and, of course, they shared our mutual obsession with food, capable of eating their weight in adobo and cupcakes in a single sitting.
Naturally, they ended up at HVIS. And naturally, they ended up in Section E.
It had become a tradition. The second generation of Section E was now in full swing, the children of David, Cin, Rory, and the rest of the boys filling the hallways. But even among the elite offspring of the original crew, the Watson twins reigned supreme.
Kyle was the Class President—a mirror image of his father—running the student body with an iron fist in a velvet glove. Kylie, on the other hand, was the fire to his ice.
Which is exactly why Keifer and I were currently walking through the familiar hallways of HVIS, our heels clicking in sync.
"I told you we should have seen the signs," I whispered to Keifer, though I had a small, proud smile tugging at my lips.
Keifer looked effortless in his charcoal suit, his expression a mask of calm, though I could see the glimmer of amusement in his eyes.
"Jay, they are our children. Did you really expect them to be the quiet ones?"
We reached the Principal's office. When we entered, we weren't met by a stranger, but by a man who had seen it all.
Sir Alvin, our former homeroom teacher, was now the Principal. He looked up from his desk and let out a sigh so deep it sounded like he was mourning his own sanity.
"Jay. Keifer," Alvin greeted us, rubbing his temples. "Welcome back to my nightmare."
We looked toward the center of the room.
There sat Kylie, leaning back in her chair with a look of absolute boredom, her legs crossed, a small smudge of blood on her knuckle.
Across from her were two boys from another section, looking absolutely pathetic. They weren't just defeated; they had been beaten to a pulp. Their uniforms were torn, their faces bruised, and they were shaking with a mixture of fear and confusion.
And then there was Kyle.
He wasn't sitting. He was standing directly behind the Kylie's chair, arms crossed over his chest, his face an impenetrable wall of cold indifference.
By the looks of it ,it was obvious He wasn't involved in the fight that he hadn't thrown a single punch—he didn't need to.
He had simply stood there as the 'moral support,' the silent strategist ensuring that no one interrupted his sister's retribution.
Sir Alvin looked at us, then back at the twins, then back at us again. He leaned back in his chair and gestured toward Kylie.
"It's like a redo," Alvin muttered, sounding exhausted. "A complete and total redo of you, Jay Jay. I spent so much time dealing with your temper, and now I have to deal with this."
I stepped forward, crossing my arms exactly the way Kyle was doing. I looked at the two bruised boys and then at my daughter.
"I'm sorry sir, what did she do?" I asked, my voice cool.
Kylie looked up at me, her cold expression instantly melting into a sweet, innocent pout that she knew worked on me.
"My friend was getting bullied because she spoke up against their decision, they thought that their perspective was right, Mom. I just... corrected their perspective."
Keifer let out a short, sharp bark of laughter. He walked over to Kyle and placed a hand on his son's shoulder.
Kyle didn't smile—Watsons didn't smile in the Principal's office—but he leaned into his father's touch.
"Correcting perspectives," Keifer mused, looking at the beaten boys with a look of mild disdain.
"Sounds like an efficient way to handle things. Though, Kylie, your footwork on that left hook was probably a bit sloppy, you should have given a direct hit."
"Keifer!" I scolded, though I was fighting back a laugh. "Don't encourage her!"
"I'm not encouraging," Keifer replied, pulling me against his side and kissing my temple. "I'm providing constructive criticism."
Sir Alvin groaned, dropping his head onto the desk with a loud thud. "Get them out of here. Just take them home before they decide to reorganize the school board. She is suspended for two days and I'll not let this get on the record..."
As we walked out of the office, the twins flanking us—one the silent commander, the other the fierce warrior—I looked up at Keifer.
We had gone from broken teenagers to exiled souls, and finally to this: a family that was loud, chaotic, and fiercely protective of one another.
"So," Keifer whispered as we reached the car. "Since you're both in trouble... no dessert for a week."
"What?!" the twins shouted in unison, their cold facades shattering into identical expressions of horror.
"Dad! That's cruel!" Kylie wailed.
"That's an abuse of power!" Kyle argued.
Keifer just smirked, opening the car door for me with a wink. "Welcome to the Watson household, kids. Where the President always has the final say."
I leaned my head on Keifer's shoulder, watching our children bicker with the same passion we once had.
The circle was more than closed; it had expanded into something beautiful.
We were no longer running. We were no longer searching.
We were simply, perfectly, home....
