Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Rebel Army, Picked Up 2 Little Wolf Cubs

In the interstellar world, apart from the Federation, the Golden Radiance Empire, Star Shining Royal Court, and Silver Wing Temple formed a tripartite balance. Representing the sun, moon, and stars, they stood in mutual glory with the Federation, supporting one another to build a harmonious and friendly interstellar world.

They shared a common enemy: the Rebel Army and the Fierce Beast Army.

Strictly speaking, Fierce Beasts were biological weapons engineered by the Rebel Army for war. They were mindless monsters that knew no fear of death, obeying only the Rebel Army's commands.

"The Fierce Beasts we secretly smuggled into the Tianyao Star Protection Zone were all eliminated?" Valken frowned deeply as he listened to his subordinate's report. His expression darkened, and he viciously kicked a nearby chair. "A bunch of useless trash! Hmph, Huo An really defends that place like an iron fortress."

SSS-level Beastmen were the darlings of the universe, born with formidable power. Their only weakness was during their Evolutionary Stage, when they transformed into fierce beasts and fought isolated battles, refusing any human assistance. This was the only flaw Valken could exploit.

"There's something else of great importance," the subordinate added. "A new Breeder arrived at the protection zone, and she seems capable of getting close to them."

The Rebel Army naturally wouldn't miss the stir on the Star Network. Although they hadn't intercepted the messages sent by the Information Security Department, they could still deduce Liang He's uniqueness from the available data.

Looking at the photos on his Light Brain, Valken instantly recognized their mortal enemies: Cedriel and Lanton. "Are they hunting together?" he asked. Furthermore, their demeanor in the photos showed that they were completely unguarded around the photographer.

"Yes. I had the technicians analyze it, and the footage was captured from an extremely close distance." The clarification video Liang He posted later provided even more evidence of this fact.

Valken quickly realized that this 'Fur Raising Officer' would be their new breakthrough point. "Send someone to investigate her identity," he ordered.

"Yes, sir!"

Completely unaware that she was being targeted by the Rebel Army, Liang He woke from her deep slumber only to discover that both Cedriel and Lanton were absent from the room. She immediately checked the surveillance footage. The recording left her both speechless and amused; the eagle and the tiger had actually cooperated to open the door and slipped out early to hunt.

"Thank goodness Cedriel was thoughtful enough to close the door behind them, or I probably would have woken up freezing," she chuckled, shaking her head.

After a quick wash, Liang He casually ate a few homemade steamed buns and then piloted her hovercar to patrol the surroundings, primarily to see if she could forage any ingredients for cooking. "It rained last night. I wonder if there are any mushrooms or wood-ear fungi around," she mused.

Still unfamiliar with the geographical environment of the interstellar world, Liang He fumbled around in search of food.

"Huh, what is this?" Sharp-eyed, Liang He suddenly spotted a black-and-white lump in the messy grass. She quietly approached, carefully parted the weeds, and finally saw its true appearance. "It's actually two newborn wolf pups?"

Realizing something was wrong, Liang He turned and climbed a nearby tree. This way, if the pups' parents returned, they wouldn't misunderstand and think she was trying to steal their babies. Sitting on a sturdy branch, she casually contacted the Veterinarian, Xu Yi.

[Wolves generally do not abandon their young. It's highly likely that their parents have been killed,] Xu Yi replied immediately upon receiving the message, already rushing toward her location.

Even the Royal Animal Reserve followed natural ecological laws and the food chain. Unless the animals involved were Beastmen in their beast forms, the staff would not interfere too much, though basic medical rescues were still provided. Xu Yi's reply essentially aligned with Liang He's own judgment.

Seeing that it was about to rain again, and knowing the two pups had likely been freezing all night, Liang He pushed aside any other concerns. She jumped straight down from the tree, scooped up the two little creatures, and bolted for the hovercar.

"Wow! Liang He is pretty agile. She actually jumped straight down from a tree that was two or three meters high!"

"I feel like she's shattering my stereotypes about Blue Star people. To be honest, it's pretty cool."

"I really didn't expect that with Cedriel and Lanton gone, she'd manage to pick up two wolf pups. I wonder how they'll react when they get back?"

The colleagues monitoring the cameras, always eager for drama, began placing bets on whether the Mojin King Tiger and Canglan Hunting Eagle would be jealous when they returned to find the wolf pups.

Holding the wolf pups, Liang He dashed back into the hovercar. She dried their fur with a clean towel and then found an old piece of clothing to serve as their temporary nest.

"I remember packing feeding bottles and goat milk powder," she muttered, rummaging through the hovercar's compartments. She finally found two bottles and a can of goat milk powder tucked at the very bottom. Knowing that animals were often lactose intolerant, she had specifically prepared goat milk instead of cow's milk. "Good thing I insist on maintaining a healthy lifestyle; the thermos I brought is full of hot water."

The bottles had already been sterilized, so a simple rinse was all they needed before use. She quickly mixed two bottles of formula and began feeding the wolf pups to prevent them from losing their strength and succumbing to the cold.

The little ones had a strong will to live. GULP GULP. It wasn't long before they had eagerly drained all the goat milk from their bottles.

After feeding them, Liang He placed them back into their nest. She smiled gently as she watched them snuggle up to each other for warmth.

"Liang He, open the door!"

Was that Huo An?

Liang He opened the hovercar's door in surprise. Seeing Huo An step inside, she instinctively glanced outside but saw no sign of Xu Yi.

"Xu Yi had something urgent come up, so he asked me to find you," Huo An explained, ignoring Liang He's curious gaze. He looked down at the two wolf pups and pursed his lips. "I had someone pull the surveillance footage. Their parents aren't dead, but we can't find any trace of them either. Take them back to the service area and raise them for now."

Judging by their black and white coats, the pups were likely the offspring of a Silver Moon Wolf and a Profound Night Wolf, making them Level-Two Protected Animals in the Federation.

"Alright." The weather was already turning colder. Liang He couldn't possibly release them back into the wild, as that would be no different from a death sentence. She decided it was best to take them back and raise them together.

Huo An's hovercar was parked nearby, and they each piloted their respective vehicles straight back to the Seventh Service Area.

"Brother Hao, do we have floor heating here in the winter?" Although winter hadn't fully arrived yet, Liang He was already preparing for it.

"Floor heating?" Huo An shook his head, slightly puzzled, but he grasped the gist of her question. "The service area has thermostatic equipment. When it gets cold, you just turn the system on, and the indoor temperature will adjust to your specifications."

Aside from the Beastmen, the reserve also housed many protected animals that needed to be kept in enclosures during their treatment. Since different animals had varying temperature requirements, every room could be adjusted individually.

Hearing this, Liang He finally felt relieved. At least she wouldn't have to worry about freezing during the winter. "Okay, I'll head to the nursery first and settle these two little guys in."

Having been out in the cold all night, they would probably need to stay in an incubator for a few days. However, when the meticulous and caring Liang He returned after settling the pitiful wolf pups, she was met with the scene of a single man standing off against a tiger and an eagle.

"ROAR!"

"SCREECH!"

Good heavens, were they teaming up for another fight?
