Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the leaves, dappling a plump white cat.
The white cat seemed to stretch lazily, but within its narrowed eyes glinted a chilling killing intent.
'It silently calculated the distance.'
'Just two more steps, and that pair—a man and a woman—would enter its attack range. With a single strike, it could claw them both to death.'
'A mere Taiping Captain? A sure thing.'
'The white cat felt extremely smug, as if it could already see the outcome.'
It had forgotten that the last time it thought it had an easy score, it had ended up exposing its location.
The inherent greed of a Demon meant that even though it wanted to keep a low profile, it couldn't resist when an opportunity presented itself.
The white cat arched its back slightly, preparing to pounce and kill.
Suddenly, the Taiping Captain walking in front stopped in his tracks.
The woman following closely behind him nearly bumped into his back.
