"Iris!" An urgent shout echoed through the deep cave.
Rhys Crawford slid down the rope to the bottom of the pit. His eyes lit up the moment he spotted the glow of a light up ahead.
The young girl was wearing a hard hat, and its headlamp illuminated the entire cave. Although her figure appeared delicate and frail, she exuded a powerful aura of resilience and calm that inexplicably made one feel safe.
Rhys let out a sigh of relief. He quickly unfastened the rope, rushed over to Iris Dalton, and looked her up and down. "Are you hurt?"
Her small face was completely concealed by a mask, but her bright eyes betrayed an excited smile. She looked energetic and in high spirits. She was completely unharmed.
A massive weight finally lifted from Rhys's shoulders. He patted his chest subtly. "Thank goodness you're fine. You nearly scared me to death..."
