Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Prototype of the Military Merit System

In *War*, even an ordinary person has potential. They can gain attributes by leveling up.

But the potential of most ordinary people is "Unranked" (White), meaning they only gain 0.2 Attribute Points per level.

To be blunt, the potential of these common folk is pitifully low. Even if they become soldiers, they'd be on par with the Yellow Turbans at best—hardly useful.

After all, gaining only 0.2 Attribute Points per level means that even at level 100, they would only have 20 points of Martial Power, barely reaching Tier Two. Their potential is truly limited!

When Zhou Cang recruited spearmen in Da Liu Town, many signed up, but only about 300 met the minimum requirement of "Ranked" (Gray) potential. From these 300, he selected the best of the best, recruiting 200 men. Among these two hundred, nearly fifty had "Third-Rate" (Yellow) potential, gaining 0.5 Attribute Points per level, while the other 150 had "Ranked" (Gray) potential, gaining 0.3 Attribute Points per level.
