Upon entering the room, Julian Winslow noticed a bowl of instant noodles on the table, still steaming hot. His brows furrowed. "You haven't had dinner yet?"
Shalma Hughes didn't answer.
Julian stepped forward and stood behind her. The distance was so close he could smell the fragrance lingering in her hair. "Why didn't you tell me you were back?"
Shalma remained silent.
"Faye said you made a special trip to Eldoria to see Carrie," Julian continued. "Why did you come to Aethelgard?"
Still, there was no response.
Her indifference and unnatural calm instantly flared Julian's temper. He suddenly reached out, forcefully spinning the woman around to face him, only to meet her slightly cold gaze.
A second later, Shalma suddenly smiled. However, her delicate features were ice-cold to the extreme. "Mr. Winslow is truly resourceful. Even my being here couldn't escape your notice."
