After Olivia Wynne finished speaking, the living room fell silent for a long time. Just as the quiet became suffocating, Zachary Fairchild spoke.
"Olivia, are you blaming me for not spending enough time with you?"
"I'll make more time for you from now on."
He said in a deep voice, his tone leaving no room for refusal.
Olivia took a deep breath and looked at Zachary. "You know what I mean," she said, enunciating every word.
Zachary's expression remained unchanged. He made a point of looking at Olivia as he stood up.
"Olivia, if you want me to spend more time with you, you just have to say it. I'll be with you more often from now on."
After speaking, he completely ignored Olivia. He took two steps forward, then stopped without turning around.
"Men of the Fairchild Family don't get divorced."
Zachary's words were firm and resolute, giving Olivia his answer. Divorce was impossible.
