Just as the meal was winding down, Sean Shepherd took a call. Olivia overheard bits and pieces; it sounded like an investor.
Whatever was said, after hanging up, Sean Shepherd made an excuse and left.
After Sean Shepherd left, Benjamin Archer and Dana Gable also made their excuses and departed.
With the key figures at the table gone, the remaining guests didn't linger, making their own excuses and leaving one after another.
Isaac Archer was one of the last to leave. Noticing Olivia was still there, he approached and asked in a gentle voice, "Wynne, it looked like you came in someone else's car. Would you like me to give you a ride home?"
'See how nice I am? You don't have a car, and here I am, offering you a ride home.'
Olivia gave Isaac Archer a look that was not quite a smile and replied coolly, "That won't be necessary."
Isaac Archer didn't leave right away. His face was a mask of gentle concern. "But you don't have a car. Are you just going to hail a cab?"
