Zachary Fairchild's words were a bolt from the blue. Collins felt completely stunned, looking up in disbelief. "Mrs.?"
"If you'd prefer, you can use her last name and call her Mrs. Fairchild."
Zachary Fairchild's voice was still perfectly level.
It took Collins a good while to recover. Suppressing his surprise, he looked at Olivia Wynne and greeted her, "Hello, Mrs. Fairchild."
'I always felt Mr. Fairchild treated Miss Wynne differently, but I never expected he'd be telling me to call her 'Mrs.' already. It looks like his feelings for her are really something special. I'll have to make sure to treat her well from now on.'
'Seeing how much Mr. Fairchild cares about her, maybe I can ask her to put in a good word for me if I ever get on his bad side.'
Collins was lost in thought, his expression a little dazed.
Standing to the side, Zachary Fairchild added in a low voice, "We're legally married. So just call her Mrs. Fairchild from now on, not Miss Wynne."
