Around three in the afternoon, Zachary Fairchild received a call from the family estate, asking him and Olivia Wynne to come over.
Olivia Wynne guessed that Grandfather probably wanted to discuss the betrothal gifts. On the way to the family estate, she sat in the passenger seat and looked at Zachary Fairchild seriously.
"Zachary Fairchild, why don't you tell Grandfather that he doesn't need to give us so much for the betrothal gifts?"
'She'd take the cash; she could use it to buy food. But company shares? What would she even do with them? She wouldn't know how to manage them.'
With both hands on the steering wheel, he kept his eyes fixed on the road ahead and said, without much conviction, "I can't."
Olivia pouted.
"I knew you'd refuse."
"But the shares are no use to me. Why don't we transfer them to your name?"
'It's all Fairchild family property anyway. Giving it to Zachary is the same thing.'
"That's not necessary. I have my own."
