"But wait," someone's eyes widened. "Did you all forget to tell the Young Madam that someone's in Keaton's office giving a report?"
Everyone looked at each other before one of them spoke up quietly, "The Vice President must have met the Young Madam before, right...?"
The Vice President, in fact, had not.
Although he had a good relationship with Keaton, the man protected his wife too well. Even if you asked Wyatt Walsh, that kid was completely tight-lipped, offering words that sounded polite but were actually just perfunctory.
"Something this important is best heard from the chairman himself."
The Vice President had indeed come today simply to report on his work. He was even wondering why there was suddenly an extra chair next to Keaton's desk.
His mind started racing. 'It couldn't be for me, could it?'
'After all, I've served Apex for decades. Keaton knows how loyal I am, so he specially prepared a chair for me?'
'Does he want to have a heart-to-heart?'
