"If you're heading to the next stop, I'd recommend Olivine City. It's right by the sea, and the scenery there is absolutely beautiful."
"Thank you for the recommendation."
After the Gym battle, Ash and his friends didn't leave Ecruteak City right away. Since they had finally arrived in such a large city, they naturally wanted to stock up on supplies. It was something they had already planned before reaching Ecruteak.
The conversation above was Morty's suggestion.
"The sea! Ash, let's make Olivine City our next destination!" As a Water type specialist, Misty couldn't have been happier at the thought of visiting a coastal city.
Ash had no objections.
"Sure. Then Olivine City will be our next stop."
"But before we leave, I'd like to attend that tea party..."
"Eevee!"
Just as Misty mentioned the tea party, a cheerful cry caught everyone's attention.
They turned around and saw an Eevee.
Its fur was especially sleek and glossy, making the already adorable Pokémon even more irresistible. Misty's heart melted instantly.
She hurried over, scooped the little Eevee into her arms, and hugged it tightly.
"So cute! Eevee, are you lost? Wow, your fur feels unbelievably soft!"
As she spoke, she couldn't resist rubbing her cheek against its fluffy body.
Watching from the side, Ash could only shake his head helplessly.
Petting it was one thing, but cuddling someone else's Eevee this enthusiastically was a bit much. Girls really had no resistance when it came to cute Pokémon.
Still, seeing this Eevee reminded him of something.
This should be the episode about the Eevee Sisters' tea party.
If that was the case... did they happen to have another Eevee?
If they did...
While Ash was busy imagining the possibilities, a young girl with twin ponytails walked over. Judging by her appearance, she was clearly Eevee's Trainer.
"So this Eevee belongs to you!"
Misty immediately returned Eevee to her.
"Thank you. My Eevee caused you some trouble."
"Not at all! Your Eevee is absolutely adorable."
"It doesn't listen to me very well sometimes." The girl smiled. "Oh, I should introduce myself. My name is Sakura."
"Your name is Sakura? That's the same name as one of my sisters! I'm Misty..."
(T/N: Sakura is actually Daisy's original Japanese name 😀 but I hate Sakura from Naruto, Aghhh!)
Before long, the two girls were chatting away as if they'd known each other for years, leaving Ash and Brock with nothing to do but stand off to the side.
"I can't believe they hit it off so quickly," Brock remarked.
"Girls tend to become friends pretty easily," Ash replied with a smile. "Besides, they probably have quite a bit in common."
In truth, Ash knew there was another reason the two had bonded so quickly.
Aside from sharing the same name as Misty's older sister, they also occupied the same place in their respective families.
Both of them were the youngest sisters.
And when their older sisters introduced the family, they were often the ones who received the least attention.
That shared experience made it easy for them to connect.
"Ash, Brock!" Misty called excitedly. "I just found out that her family is hosting the tea party. Let's all go take a look!"
Faced with Misty's suggestion, the two boys agreed without hesitation.
When they arrived at Sakura's home, she excused herself to change into something more appropriate for hosting.
A few moments later, she returned wearing a beautiful kimono.
She looked even more stunning than when they had first met her.
"Wow, Sakura, you look gorgeous!" Misty couldn't help but praise her.
"Thank you. I need to go greet the other guests. Please make yourselves at home and enjoy the tea party!" After giving them a polite bow, Sakura walked away.
"Welcome, everyone. Please enjoy the tea gathering."
As they strolled through the garden, an elegant woman dressed in a light green kimono greeted them warmly.
"My heart has been pierced by Cupid's arrow!" Brock exclaimed as he instantly appeared in front of her. "Miss, you're hundreds of times more beautiful than this garden. No, you're more beautiful than every woman I've ever met!"
After that little episode, they continued walking.
Soon, they noticed a young woman in a yellow kimono carefully arranging flowers.
"There. My ikebana arrangement is finally complete."
"My heart has been pierced by Cupid's arrow again!" Brock declared without missing a beat. "Miss, you're hundreds of times more beautiful than the flowers in that vase. No, you're more beautiful than every woman I've ever met!"
"Here we go again..." Ash sighed, rubbing his forehead.
It was honestly painful to watch.
As they continued wandering around, a beautiful melody suddenly drifted through the air.
"What lovely music!" Misty said, instantly captivated.
Following the sound, they saw a graceful woman in a sky blue kimono seated before a traditional zither, elegantly playing with refined movements that were mesmerizing to watch.
"My heart has been pierced by Cupid's arrow once again!" Brock cried. "Miss, you're hundreds of times more beautiful than this music. No, you're more beautiful than every woman I've ever met!"
Ash could only smile wryly at Brock's lovestruck expression.
I really should find Brock a girlfriend someday, he thought. Maybe then he'd finally settle down a little.
"Here's the tea room. Let's go inside!"
At last, they reached the tea room.
By now, Misty had completely given up trying to stop Brock, while Ash was quietly looking forward to seeing how embarrassed Brock would be in a moment.
"Welcome."
A woman dressed in a deep blue kimono greeted them with a gentle smile.
"Thank you for having us."
Out of courtesy, Ash gave her a respectful bow.
"Please don't be nervous. Just relax and enjoy yourselves," the woman said softly.
"My heart has been pierced by Cupid's arrow yet again!" Brock declared for the fourth time. "Miss, you're hundreds of times more beautiful than this tea set. No, you're more beautiful than every woman I've ever met!"
"That's the fourth time!" Misty finally snapped, grabbing Brock by the ear. "Your heart's been shot through so many times it's full of holes already!"
The elegant woman in the tea room then began demonstrating the traditional tea ceremony with refined, graceful movements.
Ash could immediately tell that this tea was something special.
"The tea is ready. Please enjoy."
Ash carefully lifted the teacup and took a small sip.
Just as he expected, it was pleasantly bitter at first before a rich sweetness gradually spread across his palate, leaving behind an incredibly mellow and fragrant aftertaste.
The flavor lingered beautifully, making it unforgettable.
As for Brock...
He simply downed the entire cup in one gulp.
Seeing this from the corner of his eye, Ash was left speechless. He hadn't appreciated a single bit of its flavor.
"My sister's tea is delicious, isn't it?"
