Chapter 155 - Chapter 155 The End of a Leisurely Winter Life

"How many times did you laugh?" Ed stared at Carly.

"I'll count!" Carly racked her brains.

Haha, I can't make this up anymore, Carly feels like her head is about to explode.

"Haha...

Adelaide watched the two of them with amusement. Carly was still a child, but for some reason, her master was becoming more and more like a child as well.

Ed gave Carly a thumbs-up, and Carly returned the favor by giving Ed a thumbs-up in return.

Silence speaks louder than words.

"Master, Carly, you should both count the copper coins carefully! Look how many there are left. I might have to work until tomorrow to finish counting them, and then I might not be able to complete the task of distributing the copper coins today."

In the end, only Adelaide was a qualified worker who always remembered her job.

If her daily wage is 500, Ed and Carly only deserve 250. It's a pity she only earns 50 copper coins a day.

"Sister Adelaide, where are my copper coins?" Carly asked, looking at the piles of copper coins that had already been laid out.

"Carly, you have to count all those big copper coins, or you won't have any left."

Adelaide now controls the issuance of copper coins, so she still wields considerable power.

"Oh!" Carly had no choice but to silently count the copper coins.

With no one to disturb them and all three working diligently, counting copper coins was quite efficient.

Before long, all the copper coins that needed to be distributed had been counted.

Since today was the first distribution of copper coins, Ed decided to deliver them to their workplace and also inform the person in charge that tomorrow's copper coins should be collected by themselves at the castle.

The three men found a simple wooden cart and put the copper coins they were sending to different places into cloth bags.

First, they arrived at the Peace Hotel, which was undergoing some renovations. The area behind the kitchen had been fenced off and turned into several large windows.

(It looks like a school cafeteria)

Most of it has been completed, and now only some minor modifications are being made.

Above the window, the price of copper coins needed to supply food for the restaurant was posted. The handwriting was beautiful; it was clearly written by the old butler.

"My master, you've come!" The old butler ran up from behind and stood there respectfully.

Beside him was a little boy who seemed quite well-behaved, standing properly as well. "Hello, my master, my name is Grey Eric."

Ed didn't want to say much to the old butler.

"Hello, Grey Eric, study hard."

Ed didn't say much to the little boy.

"Butler Marcus, these are the copper coins for the canteen and workshop. You need to distribute them all today. Also, when can the restaurant switch to the new dining style?"

"My master, it will be soon. We are preparing various foods, and it will be ready in three days."

"Yes, Marcus, you did a great job."

Ed left, and Marcus watched Ed's departing figure with excitement. He hoped he could work for a few more years, and he wanted to see Greyhold become better step by step.

"Grey White, you write these words very well! I didn't expect you to be so smart and learn so quickly."

Marcus, the old butler, was pleased that he hadn't made a mistake in choosing the right person.

"No, Butler Marcus, I'm far from good enough! I'll need your help to complete this task."

Marcus nodded in satisfaction as he looked at Gray, who was speaking with his head down.

With winter ending and the issuance of copper coins, does this foreshadow new changes in the territory?
