Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: Struck it Rich!

Hisoka was very careful while raiding the Rhydon's cave, making sure not to leave a mess.

After all, he wasn't going to just leave immediately; he still had to live on the island for a while. If he left obvious traces that an intruder had entered the den, it would be seen as a blatant provocationsomething no powerful Pokémon would tolerate.

"I knew it. How could a cave this big have nothing valuable?" Hisoka smiled with satisfaction as he held a glittering gold orb between two fingers.

It was a Nugget he had just found in a corner. It was about the size of a ping-pong ball, perfectly round and of excellent quality. This kind of Nugget was a type of wild pearl, composed of ninety percent gold. Many wealthy families liked to call them "Golden Pearls."

Unlike the Big Pearl, which had the special effect of boosting Water-type moves, a Nugget had no additional effects other than being beautiful. They were produced by a giant deep-sea clam known as the Golden Clamperl.

Given its size and quality, Hisoka estimated its market value to be no less than 260,000. It was a decent bit of income.

After that initial success, Hisoka's luck seemed to surge. To speed up the search of the cave, he released Lulu and Weavile.

Lulu had been with him for a long time and was already a seasoned veteran; she knew exactly what kind of treasures Hisoka was looking for. Weavile was still inexperienced and didn't quite understand the point of these shiny things, but after hearing its master's description, it joined the raiding operation.

Lulu was the fastest. She didn't need to dig through the piles manually. With a sweep of her powerful mental power, she used telekinesis to levitate gemstones of various colors out from every corner of the cave.

"I'm rich, I'm truly rich."

Looking at the bag full of various gemstones, Hisoka couldn't stop smiling. The feeling of just picking up money was truly incredible!

In addition to the gemstones, the trio found several high-quality Evolution Stones. There weren't manyonly five in total: two Water Stones, one Fire Stone, and two Leaf Stonesbut they were all excellent, brimming with energy.

Evolution Stones were always a form of hard currency. In recent years, as several large mineral veins neared depletion, the price of these stones rose year after year.

While many of the other gemstones were of average quality and weren't worth much individually, the sheer quantity in the bag made up for it. Hisoka conservatively estimated that the bag's market price wouldn't be lower than 9 million. However, considering that flooding a single trading area with so many gems would drive prices down, he planned to sell them across different cities.

The most valuable item among them was a Cat's Eye. Hisoka toyed with the amber-colored stone, which was about the size of an egg and featured a vertical black slit in the center.

From a distance, it truly looked like a feline pupil, emitting a warm, mysterious glow.

Hisoka wasn't an expert at appraising gems, but as a Bounty Hunter, you had to have a basic understanding of precious materials. Otherwise, if you stumbled upon a priceless gem in the wild and missed it out of ignorance, the loss would be devastating.

This was a piece of chrysoberyl, a common variety of Cat's Eye. The one in Hisoka's hand was full and of exceptional quality; this single stone alone could be sold for over 2 million.

Compared to his previous world, the precious gems here were expensive, but they were still far less valuable than magical items with special effects.

In the eyes of powerful trainers, these gems were as useless as the stones on the road. Only the ladies and misses of wealthy families favored these beautiful stones.

No matter which world it was, a woman's money was always easier to earn than a man's!

...

"Hisoka, look here! Look over here!"

Just as Hisoka was carefully putting the bag of treasure into his backpack, Lulu's excited voice rang out in his mind.

"What is it?" Hisoka asked. He figured the little girl must have found something extraordinary; otherwise, she wouldn't be this agitated.

She hadn't made a sound when they were finding all those other gems!

Running over, Hisoka saw Weavile and Lulu standing before a rock wall at the deepest part of the cave. He remembered there being a large pile of Fluorite here earlier, but Lulu seemed to have used her telekinesis to move the stones to the side.

The two Pokémon didn't even notice Hisoka approaching. They were staring intensely, almost infatuated, at something embedded in the rock.

Curious about what had captivated them, Hisoka followed their gaze.

It was a round bead about the size of an adult's fist, embedded in the rock wall. Its exterior material looked similar to man-made glass. Inside the bead, there was a swirling rainbow vortex, as if a current of liquid was flowing within it. Under the glow of the Fluorite, it was an incredibly beautiful sight.

"Something's wrong!" Hisoka shook his head vigorously. Just now, as he stared at it, he had felt himself being drawn in, becoming intoxicated. It was as if this strange bead possessed a mesmerizing charm.

Hisoka didn't know exactly what this thing was or what it did. But it was definitely a major treasurelikely a natural, miraculous item birthed by the world.

Perhaps this bead with the rainbow glow was the greatest harvest of this raid!
