Chapter 323 - Chapter 323: Seven Luminaries Reversal and the Reverse Harem Technique

Chapter 323: Seven Luminaries Reversal and the Reverse Harem Technique

A cold wind hissed past. As far as the eye could see, there was nothing but blinding white.

The legendary Rabbit Goddess seemed to have slept for so long that she'd lost her grip on the realities of the current fight — taking on three opponents at once, all by herself.

At least, that was how Sakura saw it.

With Amenominakanushi at her disposal, if Kaguya had been up against an opponent as battle-hardened as Madara, then facing down just Naruto and Sasuke alone would have given her, if not an easy win, then at least excellent odds.

Unfortunately for her, the so-called Rabbit Goddess was, at her core, simply a woman with enormous raw power and virtually no real combat instincts.

Sakura's original plan had just been to see how her own numbers stacked up against Kaguya's, one-on-one.

That wasn't bullying — the woman clearly had no head for tactics.

But Sakura hadn't expected Kaguya to drag all three of them — herself included, and Naruto and Sasuke, who'd only just gotten their hands on the Yin and Yang power — into Amenominakanushi at once.

Which was, frankly...

A death wish.

Naruto surged forward first, charging straight at Kaguya, with Sasuke close behind, Susanoo blazing to life around him.

"Multi Shadow Clone Technique!"

Naruto's hands flashed through seals, and in a burst of white smoke, over a thousand shadow clones appeared at once, charging Kaguya in unison.

Kaguya's expression didn't so much as flicker at the sight, utterly unconcerned by the wave of clones. Her long white hair shot outward at lightning speed—

Rabbit-Hair Needles!

In an instant, a rapid string of detonations rang out, clone after clone bursting apart, throwing up thick plumes of white smoke.

And that smoke, in turn, immediately blinded Kaguya's line of sight.

"Perfect opening!"

Sasuke's eyes narrowed sharply. A colossal shape came crashing down out of the sky, barreling toward Kaguya.

Just as the towering white Susanoo's massive spear was about to slam down into her, Kaguya slowly raised one hand—

And in that instant, Sasuke's blood ran cold.

His Susanoo — melted.

Melted, from a single Eighty Divinities — Void Strike.

Watching Naruto trade blows with the same technique earlier, Sasuke had unconsciously assumed her power wasn't quite as monstrous as it looked.

Now, with Susanoo dissolving around him, Sasuke found himself standing fully exposed, right in the palm of Kaguya's hand.

"Sasuke!"

Naruto roared, lunging with one hand outstretched to grab him.

If Kaguya got her hands on Sasuke, there was no telling what might happen.

But then — something unexpected happened.

The Rinnegan in Sasuke's left eye gave the faintest ripple.

In the next instant, a streak of vivid crimson bloomed across Kaguya's raised, pale white wrist.

A shockingly bright red, blooming against the pale skin of the goddess's own arm.

And with that sudden shift, her raised hand went abruptly, inexplicably limp.

As the shinobi world's foremost medical ninja, Sakura took one look and understood exactly what had just happened.

Kaguya's tendon had been severed — cut clean through by a single snowflake that had drifted past out of nowhere, leaving the hand that had just fired Eighty Divinities — Void Strike completely powerless.

Was this Kotoamatsukami?

No — that wasn't it. Kotoamatsukami didn't work that fast, and it couldn't possibly break the laws of physics to make a single snowflake slice through a Six Paths–level being's wrist and sever a tendon.

This was one of Sasuke's own Rinnegan dōjutsu.

No — at this point, it should really be called a divine technique.

Sasuke's Amatsukami and Kotoamatsukami had both already been the shinobi world's first examples of rule-based dōjutsu. Now that he'd acquired the Rinnegan, it seemed Sasuke hadn't followed the manga's original path toward Tenseigan power after all —

He'd developed yet another rule-warping technique entirely his own.

Looking at it now, it bore some resemblance to a certain "miracle" from Sakura's own memory of her old life.

Something that operated entirely outside the bounds of logic.

Even Death itself, in that story, could only deliver its kills through an endless string of coincidences — never by breaking the laws of physics outright.

But this — a snowflake, cool enough to melt against the warmth of a palm, slicing clean through a Six Paths–level being's tendon?

Kaguya stared down at her own bleeding wrist, expression perfectly calm. The wound healed at astonishing speed even as she watched it — as the shinobi world's first Six Paths being, its first true god, a flesh wound this trivial meant absolutely nothing to her.

Her gaze shifted to Sasuke, currently being hauled back up onto the ice by Naruto, and something in her mind settled into a decision.

This reincarnation of Indra was more dangerous than the reincarnation of Ashura.

The Ashura reincarnation merely possessed power enough to rival her own. But this Indra reincarnation possessed something that posed a genuine, lethal threat to her.

"Sasuke, what was that just now?"

Naruto had clearly noticed the exchange too.

"A new dōjutsu."

Sasuke pressed a hand briefly to his newly acquired eye.

"Seven Luminaries Reversal."

A technique capable of interfering with the fundamental rules of reality itself — reversing a moment of mortal danger and forcibly rewriting it in his own favor.

But the technique carried one quirk that wasn't quite a weakness, exactly.

It only activated the instant Sasuke himself genuinely believed he was facing death.

In that last moment, Sasuke had believed himself caught in a mortal crisis — and so Seven Luminaries Reversal, as a passive divine technique, had triggered automatically, forcibly reversing that crisis in his favor.

And it wasn't just that. Even the moment just now — Kaguya staring blankly at the wound on her own wrist, entirely ignoring Sasuke as he fell away from her grip — that, too, had been Seven Luminaries Reversal at work.

Finding the single thread of survival buried inside infinite catastrophe.

Even facing certain, inescapable death, the technique could forcibly bend the rules themselves, carving out a path from death back into life.

That was the true power behind Sasuke's Rinnegan-born Seven Luminaries Reversal.

The Mangekyō Sharingan had always brushed up against rule-manipulation at its core, and now that it had ascended into the Rinnegan, it only made sense that Sasuke's power would keep drifting further down that same path.

Nearly every technique involving "reincarnation" or "resurrection" in the setting was built around bringing the already-dead back into the world. Sasuke's Seven Luminaries Reversal was different from all of them — different from Edo Tensei, Dragon Life Reincarnation, and the Life-Transfer Technique alike.

This was a power that let its wielder survive the moment of death itself.

"You're dangerous. So this one will kill you first."

Kaguya regarded Sasuke calmly — but far from putting him on edge, Sasuke simply, slowly slid his blade back into its sheath, the ringing clash of metal on metal cutting sharp and clear through the frozen air.

The black-haired young man stood atop the black disc formed from Naruto's condensed Truth-Seeking chakra, staring up at the untouchable goddess above him without a flicker of fear, his expression calm, as though simply stating a fact:

"If you've got what it takes — go ahead and try."

With a divine technique like this backing him, Sasuke genuinely had no reason to take the so-called Rabbit Goddess seriously.

No matter how recklessly he threw himself into danger, Seven Luminaries Reversal would always find a way through.

And if there was no path forward — it would simply force one open, carved straight out of the impossible.

Off in the distance, Sakura rubbed her chin thoughtfully. She'd roughly worked out the shape of Sasuke's new ability by now.

What she couldn't tell was where its ceiling was.

Or, put another way — whether surviving always came at some hidden cost.

A divine technique that defied the laws of reality this thoroughly would rank among the very best of its kind, whatever else was true about it.

Facing Sasuke's open challenge, Kaguya's expression darkened slightly — and in the next instant, Sasuke vanished from where he stood.

Amenominakanushi activated instantly, and Sasuke, with no chance to resist, was flung straight into a desert dimension.

Sasuke's ability had made Kaguya feel something close to genuine danger.

So she chose to remove the arrogant Indra reincarnation from the equation entirely — throwing him somewhere isolated, to avoid any further unpredictable results from continued contact, intending to simply let him die of thirst.

Whatever else he was, he was still only human, after all.

And humans needed water. Deserts had none.

"Sasuke!"

Naruto's stomach dropped at the sight, scanning desperately for any trace of him — and when he came up with nothing, he turned to Sakura, pleading.

"You focus on handling that woman."

"I'll go find Sasuke."

Sakura waved a hand dismissively.

Now that Kaguya had dragged all three of them into Amenominakanushi at once, turning it into a three-on-one, Sakura had already lost whatever interest she'd had in fighting her directly.

Since that was how things stood, she might as well hand the stage over to Naruto and Sasuke. It would be good practice for them — a chance to get a feel for their new power.

"OK!"

Naruto immediately relaxed at that. In his experience, there wasn't anything Sakura couldn't handle once she'd set her mind to it.

"And one more thing..."

Kaguya ignored Naruto entirely, her gaze fixed instead on Sakura, off in the distance.

An instant later, Amenominakanushi activated again, and Sakura vanished from where she stood, just as suddenly as Sasuke had.

"One at a time, then."

Kaguya's attention settled on Naruto.

All three of them were formidable opponents. Even someone as poorly suited to combat as Kaguya understood that fighting three at once put her at a significant disadvantage.

So she'd chosen Naruto — the one who looked easiest to deal with — as her first target to eliminate.

"This one will kill you."

"And take back this one's chakra."

Kaguya raised a single hand toward Naruto.

A gray, bone-like protrusion emerged from her palm.

Coordinated Kill — Gray Bones!

...

Sakura looked around at the space she'd been dropped into, floor tiled entirely in a strange, green-hued material, and gave an experimental little hop in place.

An ultra-gravity dimension.

To Sakura, this so-called crushing gravity was no burden at all — if anything, given the chance, she'd have happily used a place like this as a training ground.

Too bad Amenominakanushi belonged to Kaguya alone. There was no taking it from her.

Not unless she killed Kaguya and let the woman possess her own body in turn, becoming Kaguya's own jinchūriki.

Only then could Sakura claim Amenominakanushi for herself — but doing so would mean becoming Kaguya's vessel in the process. Sakura wasn't afraid of Kaguya, exactly, but she had no interest in putting her own body at that kind of risk either.

Regardless — for now, all Sakura really needed to do was track down Sasuke, regroup with Naruto, and seal Kaguya away for good.

After all, her actual goal had already been accomplished — she'd secured the Yin and Yang power from Hagoromo for Naruto and Sasuke, strengthening the forces under her own command even further.

If it ever came down to dealing with the Ōtsutsuki clan down the line, having to handle everything personally would be a little embarrassing, wouldn't it?

A king only ever faces another king. There's no honor in a king fighting some general instead.

With that thought in mind, Sakura clenched her fist, gathering every last drop of chakra in her body into the point of her knuckles.

This would be the first time since ascending to Six Paths level that Sakura demonstrated her raw physical strength.

Neither against the Ten-Tails nor against Madara had she shown it off before now.

The slap that had woken the Ten-Tails could have been managed even before she'd reached Six Paths. And against a Six Paths–level Madara, she'd never once relied on brute physical force — she'd fought entirely through her mastery of chakra itself, the fruit of her fully-realized Yin Release fused with Yang.

Whether it was her earlier command of all seven natures, or the Yin-Yang Release — Infinite Mirage, all of it had belonged to Sakura's technique.

This time, Sakura intended to show off her raw power.

She raised a hand — pale, flawless skin so fine it seemed almost possible to trace the faint blue veins beneath it.

A hand like that could only inspire tenderness, the instinct to protect it from even the smallest harm.

And yet that very hand curled slowly into a fist, pink chakra kindling silently to life around it.

At the same time, an inexplicable pressure descended over the entire ultra-gravity dimension — as though some ancient, terrible presence were about to reveal a power all its own.

The gravel and loose stone scattered across the ground trembled and skittered in place, as though some instinct in even inert rock could sense the horror about to unfold, and wept for it in advance.

Gold flame wrapped around the pink chakra already burning at her fist, the two colors twining together until they took on the low, growling shape of a divine tiger.

The gold and pink chakra surged outward at once, wrapping around the young woman entirely, engulfing her like a great bonfire.

"Sage Technique — Yang Release — Mountain Lord."

She called out the familiar technique.

"ROAAAR!"

A genuine, physical roar tore through the ultra-gravity dimension.

The Mountain Lord, roaring.

The Mountain Lord, howling in fury.

In that instant, the divine tiger seemed to become fully, physically real — its savage eyes, burning with gold flame, erupting with something almost holy.

No living thing could withstand this fist, once it landed.

And then — it landed.

A silent flash of light swept over the entire space in an instant.

Death. Silence. Absolute stillness.

Everything — everything — came apart under that single blow.

Down to the smallest speck of dust, up to the vastness of the earth itself, out to the boundlessness of the sky.

All of it annihilated. All of it destroyed. All of it wept and vanished.

And beneath that fist, a sound like shattering glass rang out, sharp and jarring against the silence.

Space itself broke apart.

Beneath the young woman's fist, even space — omnipresent, unshakable space — couldn't withstand the strike, and simply came apart at the seams.

"Hm?"

"Wrong spot, huh?"

Sakura stared, blinking, at the wave of heat rolling toward her from the molten, lava-choked dimension now visible on the other side, and got ready to throw another punch somewhere else.

At that moment, Kaguya seemed to sense something, her expression darkening abruptly.

She'd felt it — the ultra-gravity dimension and the molten lava dimension had just been connected to each other.

The lava dimension was empty. The ultra-gravity dimension held the pink-haired woman she'd just thrown there herself.

She hadn't expected that pink-haired woman to have space-based abilities of her own.

Kaguya had no idea what Sakura's actual power was — she simply assumed, on reflex, that connecting the ultra-gravity dimension to the lava dimension had to be the work of some space-manipulation technique.

Surely there was no way brute force alone had punched straight through the boundary separating the two dimensions?

Don't be ridiculous.

"Looks like Sakura's giving you some trouble, huh."

Naruto, panting, eyed Kaguya warily.

"But hey — I can pull my weight too."

"Time to show you my strongest technique."

As he spoke, an unreadable smirk spread across Naruto's face.

Strongest technique?

Kaguya's expression grew wary.

This boy was genuinely strong. She couldn't afford to underestimate him.

Except—

"Feast your eyes on my Reverse Harem Technique!"

The blond-haired boy's hands flashed through a seal, and a thick plume of white smoke billowed up before Kaguya — who could only stare, utterly at a loss...

A dozen or more devastatingly handsome men materialized before her, bare and unclothed, wearing wickedly playful grins as they closed in on her — the shinobi world's most ancient, most venerable maiden.

Even the legendary Rabbit Goddess herself found this particular sight more than she could handle.
