Chapter 30 - Celestial Grimoire: Rolls and Perks so far

1. [Aulë's Enduring Stone - The Lord of the Rings ]

In the beginning, the Valar Aulë made the Dwarfs to be strong and unyielding, designed to resist the power of Melkor's monsters. This blessing has sunk into your bones at the moment of your birth.

Your stunted limbs and misshapen spine will slowly be healed by a deep, earthen magic. Infused with the essence of mountain and stone, while you will always remain shorter than a standard man, your body will possess the density and endurance of a dwarf of Middle-Earth.

2. [Stone Sense - Dragon Age]

Dwarves of Thedas experience a unique and all-encompassing relationship to their progenitor, the Stone. They are born of it, they serve it in their deeds and for them it is a living entity that breathes, remembers, and sings. This ancient connection has been struck into your soul, granting you the rare stone-sense of the Shaperate.

With this gift, the subterranean world becomes an open book. You can sense the location of ore veins, the structural weaknesses in the rock or the footsteps of an approaching enemy through miles of solid rock. While a surface-born man is blind in the dark, you find yourself having a moderately easier time navigating and architectural secrets of castles and keeps built into mountains. Magic associated with the earth, shaping stone, and sensing minerals becomes significantly easier for you to master and somewhat more powerful as well.

3. [Low-Gait Mastery - Dungeons & Dragons]

Dwarves are born and bred to fight enemies twice their size, turning their low center of gravity into a tactical nightmare for Tall-folk. This blessing has rewired your muscle memory and spatial awareness. You possess a world-class talent for fighting, turning your small height into a combat advantage.

4. [The Ancestor's Eye - Warhammer Fantasy]

The Dawi of the Old World possess a memory for breadth and detail that is truly supernatural, allowing them to learn by observing masters at work. This blessing allows you to absorb the secrets of any craft, from stonework to metallurgy, simply by watching. While you may currently lack the strength to swing a true blacksmith's hammer, your mind captures the rhythm of the strike, the exact heat of the coals, and the feel of the metal with perfect clarity.

With this gift, you could certainly go down in the history of the mundane as one of the greatest polymaths to ever live. You will find that you can reach apprentice-level competency in any manual trade within days of observation, bypassing years of standard tutelage, and mastery will be a foregone conclusion with enough time and effort.

5. [Dwarven Pickaxe - World of Warcraft]

This pick, while appearing to be nothing more than common iron and sturdy oak, is balanced with supernatural precision for a dwarf's unique center of gravity. It feels like a natural extension of your arm, possessing properties that allow it to shatter the hardest granite or the thickest steel plate with ease.

Most importantly, this tool is bound to your essence; with a simple mental tug, you can collapse the pickaxe into a soul-pocket, an internal inventory space where it remains stored and can be summoned on command.

6. [Thungni's Gift - Warhammer Fantasy]

[The race of Dwarfs is fundamentally incapable of casting traditional spells, as magic is repulsed from their bodies like magnets of the same polarity. This is not a lack of ability, but a benefit of common sense; the Ancestor Gods saw the Winds of Magic for what they were: fickle at best, and wholly corrupting at worst.

While Men and Elves use the Winds of Magic like volatile fuel, risking Tzeentch's Curse with every breath, you are granted the secret of Rune Magic. You have been granted a specialized sensitivity to the Winds of Magic. Dwarves do not ignite the fuel of the Winds of Magic. Instead, they trap it inside a rune to bind it and hold it. When so confined, the magic can be used safely. Runesmiths treat magic like any other Dwarf craft. Mastery takes patience, hard work, and dedication.

With this blessing, you gain a basic understanding of the lexicon of Dwarven Runes and you now possess the knowledge to capture magical energies and bind them into rock and metal.

7. [The Spark of Nidavellir - Marvel/Norse Myth]

[The Dwarves of Nidavellir possess a physical density and strength that allows them to forge and reshape the most durable metals in the universe. This roll imbues you with the strength of the Dwarves of Nidavellir, making your body significantly denser and heavier than it appears.

Your physical strength is elevated to superhuman levels. This density also grants you incredible durability, and you are now capable of withstanding high temperatures, crushing forces and bone-shattering impacts that would destroy a normal man instantly.]

8. [The Heart of Khazad-dûm - The Lord of the Rings]

[In the dark heart of the Misty Mountains, the Dwarves of Durin's Folk dug deeper than any other, driven by the desire for a metal beyond price - Mithril. It was a substance lighter than leather yet harder than tempered steel, its beauty like polished silver that never tarnished. This blessing carves out a fracture in reality, granting you personal dominion over a pristine vein of this legendary ore.

You are granted access to a private, pocket-dimension containing a rich, unmined section of the Mines of Moria, untouched by the Balrog's malice. At any time, you can open a gateway to step into this subterranean sanctuary to harvest the precious metal at your own pace.

Alternatively, you may choose to anchor this pocket dimension to a physical location in the mortal world, such as the basement of a keep, the depths of a cavern, or the foundations of your workshop.

However, once the mine is anchored to to the physical world, the bond becomes permanent and cannot be undone.]

9. [Bugman's Legacy - Warhammer Fantasy]

In the Old World, a Dwarf values three things with absolute, life-or-death seriousness: his beard, his gold, and his ale. Among all the Master Brewers of history, the legendary Josef Bugman stands as the absolute, undisputed paragon of the craft. This blessing imbues your hands and mind with the sacred, closely-guarded secrets of a JOsef Bugman himslef. Legendary Dawi Master Brewer, allowing you to craft beverages that blur the line between mundane chemistry and high magic.

With this gift, your brewing is no longer just a trade, but a legendary art. The ales, stouts, and meads you ferment possess supernatural restorative properties, capable of lifting the deepest despair and washing away the heaviest fatigue. Furthermore, your unique brews can act as potent regenerative agents; a single hearty Restoring Draught allows anyone who drinks it to rapidly knit broken bones, seal deep wounds, and gain the tireless endurance needed to outlast any foe in battle.]

10. [Beast Bond of the Aerie — World of Warcraft]

The Wildhammer Dwarves of the Hinterlands have never bent the knee to any throne aside the open sky. Where their subterranean kin dug deep into the crust of Azeroth, the Wildhammers looked up to the heavens above, soul binding themselves to the great gryphons of the high peaks. To a Wildhammer Dwarf, a gryphon is never a pet, slave, or simple mount; they are an equal partner in storm and war.

This blessing grants the first half of that bond: a gryphon hatchling, drawn across the gap between worlds and bound to you the instant it draws breath in this one.
