Chapter 5 - ice braking

My brother stood beside me.

He didn't look at me; his gaze was fixed on the folding space—its distortion reflecting faintly in the glass he held.

He swirled the drink slowly.

Once.

 Twice.

The liquid caught the light… then broke apart in the reflection, just like the space outside. He was quiet. Too quiet. He was shaken—I could tell.

That alone was wrong.

I turned toward him fully. "Hey, bro—"

He stopped.

The glass stilled in his hand.

For a moment, he didn't look at me. Then—slowly—his eyes lifted. to me.

"Do you feel that?" he asked.

Before I could answer,

One of the scavenger ships drifted.

A lazy movement.

Like it had lost its control in space.

"Is that—?" I started.

Slowly…

The ship tilted.

Then rotated.

Once.

Twice—

And then suddenly—

Violently out of control.

It spun like something had grabbed it and twisted.

The stabilizers flared, firing useless bursts of light into nothing.

Then it stopped spinning.

For half a second—

It just hovered.

Still.

Dead still.

And then—

It surged forward.

Slowly at first.

Dragging itself through space like it was being pulled by something unseen.

Then faster.

Faster.

Like an unstoppable bull charging toward a target it couldn't even understand.

"Pull it back," Maximus said sharply.

But no one moved.

Because we all saw it.

We all understood.

It was being taken.

The ship accelerated, engines screaming as they tried to counter whatever force had locked onto it.

It didn't matter.

It kept going.

Straight toward the distortion.

Toward the place where space itself… didn't behave like space anymore.

Then—

A sound.

At first, faint.

Barely there.

Like distant ice cracking.

My eyes narrowed.

The sound grew.

But deeper.

As if something larger had just broken.

we can see ship slowly getting broken like a glass

Then—

it was destroyed.

It was crashed into dust and scattered.

Just like the it was gone.

Like it had never existed.

Like some impossible magic swallowing it whole.

I stood there—

Frozen.

I was standing like a idiot

Maximus POV

"Pull back!" I snapped.

"Pull back!" I shouted into the commas, already moving.

No response.

Damn it.

I broke into a run toward the control room, each step heavier than the last.

Too late.

I knew it even before I reached the console.

I knew

Our ship sat at the outer line, surrounded by only a handful of space ships

And now—

Space itself was beginning to crack.

"Damn it… damn it…"

What to do if only I noticed sooner,

As run to the corridor I thought as soon as I reached the door of the control room, I slam the door open and step inside.

Inside, a few dozen people scrambled in panic, shouting over each other as they tried to start the boosters.

"F*cking start the engines!" someone yelled.

Systems flickered.

Warnings screamed.

"F*cking start the engines!" again someone yelled.

"They're not responding!"

"Override it!"

"They won't engage!"

Useless.

All of it.

They were too slow.

I didn't hesitate.

I sprinted forward, pushing past them, heading straight for the command seat.

Then—

 sound.

A crack.

Not from the ship.

From space itself.

It echoed through the hull like reality knocking on our door.

My hair stood on end.

Every instinct I had screamed at me.

Move.

Now.

I didn't think.

I Didn't stop.

I drove my hand down on the f*cking big red button.

The moment my hand hit it—

Something hit me.

Hard.

Like a wall.

My body was ripped sideways, thrown violently into the commander's seat.

Pain exploded through my side.

Then—

Black.

For half a second, I lost connection.

But the ship didn't need me anymore.

It took over.

Security protocols activated instantly.

Restraints snapped into place, locking me down.

Systems surged to life around us.

Crew members were yanked into position as automated harnesses engaged.

The chaos turned into forced order.

And then—

The voice.

colder than ice

And system repeat the same thing

"Emergency escape initiated."

Space was collapsing.

Cracking.

Then—

A tear.

Light ripped open ahead of us and space ships enter the light passage to escape and started travelling at light speed to escape

And then—

We were gone.

---

 Amund POV

I couldn't look away.

Even as the ship moved.

Even as everything around me shook—

My eyes stayed locked on the crack in space.

They burned.

Tears streamed down my face, but I didn't blink.

Couldn't blink.

Because on the other side—

There was something.

At first—

I thought it was a star.

A sun.

A massive one.

Blinding.

My vision blurred as heat seemed to pour through the tear.

My skin prickled.

My eyes felt like they were being scorched.

And my heart started pounding like crazy, each beat echoing in my ears.

My eyes felt like they were being scorched.

"This is it…" I whispered.

"This is how I die…"

The thought came quietly.

I was panicking

I was in fear…

Just as I was accepting that I was going to die, it felt like the heavens had given me a second chance.

A voice cut through everything.

"Emergency escape initiated."

The ship surged forward.

Pulled away from the edge of annihilation.

But I was still watching

The cracks spread like a spiderweb across space itself.

Widening.

Stretching.

Breaking reality apart piece by piece.

And then—

Boom.

Something shifted.

Something opened wider.

And for the first time—

I could see clearly.

There was A ocean of darkness

form the darkness Something rose.

At first, it was just a glow.

Then a shape.

Then—

A world.

A planet.

Enormous.

At least ten times larger than anything I had ever seen.

It moved with terrifying grace—like a titanic ship gliding through a dark ocean.

then two moon's rose form darkness

theycircled the planet like orbit.

And then—

I saw it.

Another sun.

But this one was Red.

Burning with a darker light.

It was still.

It was not moved.

It drifted across the void, far from the planet—

Yet somehow connected to it.

The scale of it—

The impossibility of it—

My mind couldn't hold it.

Couldn't understand it.

All I knew was—

This wasn't normal.

This wasn't natural.

And whatever we had just seen—and just escaped—

that we cannot comprehend..
